Departure - The band

Hey everyone,

Just re-listened to the album 'Corporate Wheel' by the band Departure and must say its pretty amazing. With the current hot topic being the addition of JSS to the ranks of Journey and discussion of other Journey style vocalists, I thought that I should bring Timothy Lewis to the attention of those who might not have heard of him.

He sounds a lot like Steve Augeri did on Arrival with a little more range in the higher registers and the album itself is full of AOR classics. The only downside being that the vocals are a little bit down in the mix, or maybe thats because the guitars and `80s style keyboard are turned up to 11!

Well worth a listen if you ever come across it. Now if I could just find the Hugo fronted Valentine album I would be a happy man.

Glad JSS did so well last night. Sounds like an incredible performance from a true entertainer. Now if only Jonathan Cain (aka Bullworker) looked as happy in the photos as the rest of the band...

Timothy Lewis is another good one. I've got a demo cd of him with various songs..
including a Journey tune(can't think of which one at the moment).

From his brother, I think, at the time. I had come across some info on Timothy(before the Departure days)
and there was an email addy listed. Sent an email and got a response and was able to get a demo CD from him.

"Listen to what I say" is on there. Some other great tunes as well. Would be more than happy to send you a copy..or if there's a way to put it online here. I doubt he'd have a problem with it.
