Where was JSS when the band was looking to move on and ended up calling Augeri so many years ago?? I don;t remember now, if NEal and Jon ever discussed other names publicly. I do recall the story of them calling augeri....but

I don't think Neal had met JSS yet when they were last looking for another lead singer. The singers that auditioned, besides Augeri, were Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and John West (now with Royal Hunt, a pretty good European metal band). They apparently didn't consider Kevin Chalfant because he had been in The Storm, which Neal says he considered a "mini Journey band".

A mini-Journey band that happened to have several people that had ectually been in Journey, so how could that be wrong? Everytime I listen to the first Storm music, I hear how capable Kevin would have been. I guess he didn't have the look, only the similair sound. For that matter they could have gone with David Glenn Eisley of Guiffria. That really would pissed Perry off, since he hated that he was a "Perry clone".

Nope. Neal met JSS at the NAMM show in 2004.

They apparently didn't consider Kevin Chalfant because he had been in The Storm, which Neal says he considered a "mini Journey band".

Since Kevin was a part of the Journey re-formation before Perry signed on and then dropped like a hot potato, I would think KC may not have been interested in Journey anymore. HH also mentioned that KC would have been a problem personality-wise. So maybe NEal and Jon realized that during their pre-TBF reunion.
