Hi one and all, just came over from the darkside, the other place. From reviewing posts here in this forum I have come to realize I was in the wrong place. The KoolAid was begining to sour. Let me give you a quick background, I found Journey in 1977 while in the military. I've followed them religiously until the Post Trial by Fire fiasco. But in all that time I NEVER got to see them in concert. 1985 RoR tour..got called out to sea...Trial by Fire tour Cancelled after scoring 2nd row seats in Jacksonville, Fla. I had all but given up hope. Lo and Behold Arrival Comes out...zooooom off to the store to buy it. Slap it in the CD Player, hit play ...What The Hell is this ???? Was I just getting older or was that a fiasco in the making ? But being patient I waited and waited...Along comes the 2004 Main Event, Oh Lord ..Reo, Styx and Journey..Now I am back in 80's heaven. And Damn I actually get the chance to finally see Journey. Now don't get me wrong here..it brought a tear to my eye to "HEAR" the music, but something was lacking bigtime. The lose of
The Voice. As much as I paid for those Floor Seats through E-Bay, I considered it AntiClimatic at best. All those years of waiting and hoping were shot down in flames. To be honest with everyone I actually thought Styx outperformed everyone during that tour. I gave the new singer a chance ,,I tried as hard as possible, but in my opinion it wasn't working for me. Here comes the Generations CD...once agian off to the store ....put in CD Player...NOPE doesn't do it for me. Was I spoiled on the one true sound of Journey..damn right I was..and now with the replacement of the other singer ...once again I am gonna try...am I just a glutton for punishment ? But hey the one clip I heard has brighten my outlook somewhat...At least to me it sounds as if JSS is doing it his way and not trying to be Perryesque...all I say is go for it Jeff and lets leave it up to the Fans to decide whether or not they like it. And by God I enjoy the constructive criticism on this board ...at least it seems to be Beer instead of Kool Aid
