Hey everyone, after reading a few things over the past couple days about original material and questions about if I've ever written anything or had anything available, I put a few tracks up I wrote with Swedish guitarist Juhani Nahkala under the title of "Elemental." One tune, "Rolling Away The Stone" was fortunate enough to appear on Andrews MR Comp CD II. Anyway, these songs have been sitting on my hard drive for several years collecting dust, so I just thought I'd share a few of them for anyone who wants to take a listen. Nothing that would have set the world on fire, but we had fun writing and collaborating. Unfortunately writing songs via email and in 2 different languages can be difficult to do, and with so many things on both of our other tables, it would have been difficult under normal circumstances to get anything done with the material. So here are some tunes in demo form, just for fun, smash 'em or trash 'em, whatever you prefer...Just wanted to address the questions I've seen here and at BT over the past couple weeks of writing anything original....So here ya go!

Listened to two so far, I really like I Believe. I went to Requiem first because I like the word and I loved Freddie. But I had a hard time getting into that one on the first spin.

Rolling Away The Stone has serious Perry influences. I really hear his solo work on that one. But I have got to say that you have got one helluva voice and you can write. I know you stick with the Tribute stuff, But I would love to hear something real offered up. This stuff is somewhat demo-form, but you could/should put something together...

Hey Thanks for listening Dave! Requeim was one of my favorites because of the chorus, but it is one that rambles a bit after the second verse. That's where the benefit comes into play when sitting in a room with a co-writer and tossing around ideas, rather than working with emailed mp3s and trying to do arrangements with stereo tracks instead of multitracks. Glad you liked the tunes, though! Your second part about something real being offered - There's just so many hours in the day, that writing has to be done as an inspiration and a hobby unless it's your profession. Unfortunately it's not my profession, and it's much more time consuming than drawing or spending time with the wife, so there's not to say that anything would ever happen, but it would have to be some organic burst of inspiration that would get me down in front of a multitrack recorder for weeks on end again....

Listened to all four...Didn't care for "I Believe" and "Requiem (Dancing With a Memeory)" is okay (good on ya for the Mercury tribute, though...). I really enjoyed "One By One" and "Rolling Away the Stone". Those two are great and I've added them to my favorites list.

I agree with Dave. The Perry influence is really strong on "Rolling Away the Stone".

I understand completely. I know what you mean by needing inspiration...it doesn't happen very often for me!

Thanks a lot, Mags....No, would not audition for a rock star show....I have too much going on to drop things at a moment's notice like that, but then again after watching it for a while, I'm pretty sure I'm not visually what they'd be looking for anyway....Thanks for checking out the "Stand Alone" clip....Always wanted to cover that song, but it's near impossible to do with the band...Thanks again!

Thanks Eric! Both the last and the first songs we wrote together, I'd have loved to put out a record of 10 songs of the caliber of those two...I know it's a cliche, but both songs were written (on my end - lyrics and melody) in a matter of hours. Those songs practically wrote themselves.

I just wanted to say I really like your voice Jeremey. You are very talented. I can hear the SP influence, but you're also your own man.

Hey Taylor Hicks changed all that this year. You just never know Jeremey .. but then again, from what I've heard, the contract is 10 pages long and they completely own you for the first year. Still, that sweet million dollar recording contract. A million still goes a long way!

PLEASE...don't go/do or even think of doing a reality show J,

I can tell you a million reasons why not too, but andrew might shoot me

Anyways, you sound great & i'm very pleased to see you putting family "FIRST"...
