Anyone else getting this warning?

Anyone else getting “Malware” warnings while they use the internet?

Msn has blocked my ‘travel’ a couple of times in the last few minutes with a warning….
Hmmm. Just wondering if it’s related to “yousendit”? I hope not.

(according to Wikipedia: Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system, without the owner's consent. The term is a portmanteau of "mal-" (or perhaps "malicious") and "software", and describes the intent of the creator, rather than any particular features. Malware is commonly taken to include computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware and adware. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant, for instance in the legal codes of California, West Virginia, and several other U.S. states [1].)

I have a malware program that I run everyday to get those pesky things out of my computer. And this one will let you know when it detects malware and will immediately remove it ( it has a box that pops up with a siren sound on it) . You can get a free trial of the software from ewido.com, I think. :D

the warning isn't about yousendit, it lists a problem with a phpBB site,
this forum is the only phpBB site that I visit (that I know of... lol)
not sure what it's all about, just thought Andrew should know...
maybe the site pissed someone off?.... lol

There's a difference between this site and "the Internet". Which one is it?

That's the question.

The warning is from MSN, but it popped up today on my first visit to this forum, and then again when I tried to post.

the warning mentions phpBB, but not this forum directly.

Haven't seen the warning again, yet.

probably nothing, but it's very curious, to say the least.

Is it an actual Windows warning or a popup disguised as a warning to get you to click?

It's probably the latter (I doubt Andrew has popups and no one else has seen warnings from this site) so it probably means you have spyware in your computer already. Run SpyBot, Ad-Aware and/or Microsoft Defender, all of which are free, just Google them.

What browser do you use? IE?

That was my first thought, but it's not a popup, and there is nothing to click. The MSN warning loads instead of the page I'm looking for. much like the "critical error" page that others were getting. It looks official, and again, there's nothing to click. Doesn't mean it's not a new evil thing....
And I have run spyware. nothing, thankfully.
