I highly doubt you will ever hear a peep from him again about his condition. In fact, he never even said anything which is the way bands deal with these things,

And why would that be..if it were just a "throat infection"???????

I imagine when the tour ends they will say something about his condition and if he will return. Cant see him coming back as it sounds like more than just a rough throat to me,still time will tell. 8)

I don't think we will ever see him again. He's off the charts.

Probably. It's the same reason dozens of people have been involved with the new Guns N' Roses record and the aborted 2002 tour and yet barely a word has been spoken about it.

Another interesting thing I have noticed. Someone usually always posts regarding a band members health when they are sick. Augeri's wife in fact has done this in the past. No word from ANYONE that I have seen.

Good point. I'm sure Steve is devastated. He was living his dream and it looks like his dream is over. That's got to be hard to take.

I don't really care what his status is. They changed my view in Europe. They were content with ripping off fans and not caring how WE might feel about seeing a bogus concert. I just enjoy the music now. While I wish them no harm, I really don't give a shit about anything happening to them that is non-life-threatening. That's how I feel they treated us.

I agree. My heart truly goes out to him and his family. Would still like to know exactly what went down with all of this, but I have a feeling we may never know. I just hope he was treated fairly and with respect.

I understand your frustration. I am seeing them Saturday night, with for the first time in my life mixed emotions. I love JSS, and cannot wait to see him. I do wonder however what kind of people I am watching. I believe in right and wrong. I am starting to feel he may be the scapegoat in all of this. I have no idea what his contract says, so I can never be sure. They are certainly moving right on without him however. I must say I do care about how he is doing, and hope it doesn't devastate his life. That IMO would be wrong.

Even with people all over the net sending Steve get well wishes, it seems he went home to New York and vanished. Maybe it's just me, but it seems pretty dog gone weird compared to what I have seen in the past with these guys.

I have a boot of the Manchester show, and he's clearly not lip synching there. I guess it's been proven to you that he did that at your show, so I understand your anger. Journey should have cancelled that show rather than have him do that.

I agree with Barb. I don't hear lipping there, sorry.

This is an old, dead issue though. I'm shuttin' up.

At least half of Faithfully was live in Manchester.

What????? That is the worst one. If I'm not mistaken, that is the show that the LEAD vocal track went out and he was forced to sing Faithfully. That show exposed the whole charade. Your boot will do no good. He IS singing, just into a mic that isn't on. When they turned it on because of the glitch we heard how far gone his voice really is.

I'll have to listen to it again. I know everyone is pissed off about it, but to me, it's absolutely heart breaking.

"Heartland"

Manchester >> same vocal as Arrow Festival >> same vocal as VH 1 special

They opened his mic up at the end for improv, so about 85% is lipped.

Oh my God. You are absolutely right. I didn't even notice it the first time I listened to it -- wasn't paying close attention.

I don't even know what to say.

Guys..I realize the "gag agreement" theory. As I posted before....there was the claim
that the Journey gang couldn't say anything because of Steve Perry having them "gagged".
Which I always thought was B.S. because plenty was being said...there was nothing to keep
secret about. "If you only knew" was being thrown around to make it look like SP was some
evil a-hole.

This is just about what happened here...and why.

I guess my point is...it's obviously not a "throat infection" if in fact nothing ever does get said.
So much for Andrew getting the "full story" if that's the case.

That's part of the frustration. What can you say? To whom? They won't address the issue, cancelled all interviews and will do no TV shows. It's the old "maybe they'll forget about it" trick. And YES, dummy me is going to the Chicago show.

Just remember the good times. There were plenty of them with both Steve's and there will be plenty more with the amazing JSS.

The Journey continues...

I don't think there's ever going to be an "update"...

When the whole Perry issue happened, I remember hearing whether true or not, that Perry was getting a cut of the profits from the guys touring, which at first struck me as a brilliant thing. Sit at a baseball game, while money's rolling in, and other people do the work. I never fully believed it, but it's a brilliant approach, even if not true.
