I swear to the heavens above I posted to Knox already
about a safe trip......man that peeves me off.
I hope you have a safe and fantastic trip fella...enjoy everything!

I start my countdown to California today.
Only one month till I accomplish two goals.
Getting my fat ars on a plane and seeing the
beautiful state of Cali.
Any suggestions to a good flight folks?
My friend and I are first time air-bounds and
I would love any words from the wise here.

I don't care what it looks like, if you have BLACK luggage, put duct tape or something around it. When you get to the airport, if it is some place like LAX, there will be THOUSANDS of black pieces. You will want to I.D. yours easily, especially to make sure others don't walk off with it.

As far as the flight, be patient. You will be waiting to take off and then waiting to get off once you land.

Moon Beam, what city(ies) are you planning on hitting up in Cali? I'm assuming LA at least to see the star. As far as airlines, I like United (reliable), but Southwest has some excellent fares. Not sure if either are an option for you. Prepare for a shock if you are renting a car, as gasoline here is insane.

Thanks for the well wishes, and I wish you all a safe trip - even if it is just down the street to pick up some laundry detergent and a box of Count Chocula :D .

Yes, one thing that works is tying ribbon or yarn on the handle.

Good luck flying for the first time. It's not very exciting, but maybe that's because I've been on many planes.

Knox, I went outside (briefly) today to get the mail, and am happy to report I didn't even stub my toe. (this time)

mmmm count chocula

I (somewhat appropriately) travel always with my red B.U.M. bag. It's hard to mistake as anyone elses. Also try to get the combo locks that are approved for ATA officials to use their jeys in the bottom of the locks to open your bag so they don't have to cut a lock off.
