I have to mentally distance myself from that video to enjoy the song. I still struggle with it.

And I am VERY serious with this reply. I have to picture them in concert singing this song. Possibley the worst video ever, and it makes them all look like geeks.

The worst is Jonathan pawing at the air while miming the keyboards

You know, I can envision a much better video for that song...one that would've made the band proud. I like cheese, but only on my food, lol!

I have to laugh every time I see that stupid thing, not to mention that Jon just doesn't look good besides that. Heck, all the guys in that video look ridiculous!

Or better, depending on your perspective, lol

Love the mannequin.

lol, what the hell were they thinking.

If there were a worst videos collection out there, Journey would win, hands down....

Nah...gotta mix it up a bit. Styx's Music Time and/or Mr. Roboto have got to be in there. lol

Ahhhh, Mr. Roboto, how could I forget. rotf

and I agree with you ie Chain Reaction. I enjoy watching it. I laugh, but I enjoy it. I can't watch Sept Ways. It makes me cringe and dive for the remote....

and NealisGod, there were a lot of pretty decent videos out at the time of Sept Ways... I think even Sledgehammer was around the same time. And a lot of simpler, more watchable ones.
Journey just had a knack, lol. Well, at least for these two and After the Fall.

Thank God they went to concert footage videos, and montages like Faithfully (excellent, even with the cheesy mustache scene)

I never thought I would see a video that rivalled SW in stupidity until I saw Tears For Fears' "Head Over Heels".

THAT actually makes Journey look like Oscar gold.

In the Seperate ways video, has anyone noticed that Jon Cain's "air keys" look like he is pretending to be a cat.

I can't stand to watch Sep Ways or Chain Reaction. I really like the live performance videos better than the mini-movie type.

Chain Reaction is absolutelly horrendous.Especially when Neal and Steve get into that "fight" or whatever...Embarrasing.

I don't judge them too harsh,tho...The music video production was in an experimental stage at the time.
I'm sure they laugh too when they look back. :)

But since there were no videos for any ESC4P3 tunes, those videos from the Frontiers album were great to have at the time.

Could you imagine what they could do
in the line of videos for the Escape album?
Escape or Mother Father would tell an interesting
tale, I would think.

Some people had "animated avatars" - 1 showed Steve and Jon (who's "clawing" the air ) and the other one showed Steve punching the wall, then walking towards the camera and making a "grab" for it.

For whatever reason, they were both "sped up" quite a bit - oh my God it was hilarious!!

Yup 79, I remember seeing the Seperate Ways video for the first time as well :? Not the most professional or well thought out video, one must say! The word "hamming" comes to mind quite a few times

Where exactly were the exteriors in the Separate Ways video shot? Seems to me like the China Basin or Embarcadero portion of the SF Bayfront....could be Oakland? Somewhere completely else?
