Dave,

I do hope that they will replay the first two episodes so you can see them. That first episode kept me glued to the couch. Only from the mind of Stephen King can he take the most innocent thing and make it scary ! :D

I really wish I had time to watch these. I LOVE Stephen King and none of his books get by me, but two weeks(isn't it?) in front of the tv is just too much to commit too in my life right, esp during the summer. :(

And Sallee, when is the last time you watched an hour of TV and nobody spoke a word? Pretty cool.

DUH! Actually, I was just commenting on this on another board. Did you read his Dreamcatcher book? After I read it and the movie came out I wasn't sure I wanted to go. I love reading scary books, but I hate scary movies. I actually saw Dreamcatchers twice and then read the book again in between. Then the other day, Dreamcatchers was on tv and I found myself not being to watch anymore then ten minutes of it, even though I knew how it ended. lol! I'll read his books all day long though.

Red have you ever read any of his collaborations with Peter Straub? They are great books and Peter is a genius with a typewriter as well. His stuff is very similar to King's with lots of twists and turns. Right now I"m almost done with Peter's, "The Throat"...great book!

Nope, kicked one of them around (the most famous one, what's that called) but ultimately wanted to stick to pure King.

I have read every one of King's books up to The Black House (with Peter Straub). I just started working on that again. I don't have a lot of time to read...

I love his books! And when he does stuff for TV it usually comes out better than the stuff he does for movies. That's because his stories are so damned detailed and you can't fit it all into a 2 hour movie. One of my favorite books was actually Hearts Of Atlantis, but the movie was terrible! I can't really pick a favorite, I read them and then move on. I was really upset when I heard he was retiring, but he has had enough stuff "in the can" and these other projects, that it is not really like he went away.

Has anyone read the unabridge version of "The Stand" ? That was my favorite book. I used to have the hardcover copy with illustrations in it. I lost the book between too many moves. But I did get "The Stand" on dvd from my youngest daughter for Christmas last year.

The movies I like of his are the ones that he has a hand into the writing, production, and has bit parts. :D

Huge Stephen King fan checkin' in! :)

Last I read was "Gerald's Game". King has a diabolic mind...
Love all his books.
Too bad I don't really have enough time to read these days...

I've read all of his books, but the only movie from one of his that I've really liked so far is The Green Mile. The Stand had some great performances in it, Gary Sinise and Rob Lowe especially, but other than that it left me a little flat. I almost watched Dreamcatchers on TV the other day, but passed on it.

I liked the ones with Peter Straub too Angie. They were both really good. Jack Sawyer was a goo character.

His Dark Tower series is my all time favorite of his work. Has anyone else read those?

I am so seriously behind in reading Stephen King's books. The last one I read was "Dreamcatchers". I have just gotten around to start reading again, so I might have to check the library out to see what they have that I haven't read. :D

I forgot all about this...when is it on?

Last night I picked up John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns — one of the entries in Showtime's Masters Of Horror series — and I like it a lot. Best thing I've seen John do in a bit. Anyone else seen the MoH "hourlong" films?

If you haven't read the last one you're in for some big surprises. :D
