I've been lurking about for a bit... wow, so much to read, so much to say! I'll just start off with some background and go from there.

Journey fan since 1981
-I am a Perry fan. I also have the albums prior to him. I listened to Hardline, The Storm, Tall Stories, and some other stuff. I am NOT one of those "OMG Perry is God everyone else suxx blah blah" type people. Just thought I should clear that up right off the bat, since it seems there are some pretty defined camps where the various incarnations of Journey are concerned. Yes, I'm a fan of his, but I'm open to others' opinions too.

-I honestly haven't been following Journey too much lately, at least not with the fervor I used to. I've been enjoying them superficially, i.e. just listening to the music and not digging any deeper than that. Therefore when I stumbled on this forum and a couple others and read about "TapeGate" and Augeri being replaced, plus all the forum hoopla that went along with it, I was like whoa... I saw them here a few years ago and they sounded pretty good. Sad to read about all that's happened since then.

-If you consider me a "casual" fan just because I've been out of the modern Journey loop for a while, then whatever. I'll be the first to admit I don't know diddly about anything that's happened with Augeri, except for what I've read here, but for many years I was as much a diehard fan as one could get. It's all coming back to me now...

A fan is a fan, casual or not, just make sure you have extra thick skin, you're gonna need it here.

Well, CJ is my name, but you can call me Jabby if it's better that way. I don't want to be associated with any kind of conflict I know nothing about! Thanks for the heads up.

As for thick skin... I'm a forum admin myself. I've seen it, believe me.

it's was just a little jab if you will, that people will maybe jump on.

Some people will pull the post count card and other's will pull the Perry supporter card and it's all a nice dis-functional place we have here.

A fan is a fan, I have to agree. I fell out of the Journey loop after ROR. My firt show since was 2004 in Del Mar- went by myself and had a blast. Went to many many shows last tour. I have loved the music of Jouney for many years. As with most pre-teen girls, I wanted to marry Steve Perry .

Come Vegas I will have seen all incarnations with a 'front man.' Looking forward to seeing Jeff up there, very much!!

Aw, you can't leave the noobs hanging...

CJ is Journey's main forum administrator, Jabber. The Journey forum is not well-liked by a lot of people here.

Ah. I haven't been over there, maybe once a while back, so I wouldn't have known that. I did know there was no love lost between them and some of the folks here. *shrug*
