One Journey fanatic documented this apparent lip-syncing in thoroughly dork-tastic detail

Reads more like a drop kick to me
So what the heck was that about.

Coffee table journalism fit to set your feet om

unfortunately unfavorable reviews in popular magazines are not good for the band or the singer.

They ALSO used one of Dean's Blog Headlines: "Won't Stop Deceivin' "

Rolling Stone is particularly fond of the fact that they've never given Journey a good review anyway. The fact that they "picked it up" is not a surprise to me. Took them long enough though. What was the quote fomr ages ago? Something to the effect that "Steve Perry sounds like a baby seal being clubbed". That's not exactly glowing, I could be wrong though.

You can tell where the people that posted below the story came from... Also, let's add Fleischman in the mix and say 5th lead singer. Just to be truthful, even if it was very short.

all i know is that i would be really really upset if i had spent money for a live taped performance from a guy who has been using tapes for quite awhile. i don't care how nice you are and if you are wearing red leather pants...you fooled me. i don't think that is very nice and i see why you appeared so humble; cause you were taking my money.

I wouldn't use Rolling Stone as ars wipe.
I think they are the biggest joke in Rock'n'Roll journalism.

Thanks for posting the link though Shania, if you link it I will read it.

Yes,they wrote that about Perry. The Rolling Stones disliked Journey since day one.To me this is a snobbish magazine.
Don't care for their type of journalism.

Funny,I was reading an article today on CNN.com which says:

" Finally, popular is often conflated with "right." I'm often reminded of a letter to Rolling Stone after that magazine criticized one of Journey's early-'80s albums. "Five million Journey fans can't be wrong," the letter-writer wrote."

Rolling Stone never gives them coverage, now this. I DO remember a large article in the early 80s, but they've always hated Journey. Now that this is in Rolling Stone, I have a hunch you won't see Steve back with Journey for sure (Yeah, I know, but I'm an Augeri fan, so I was holding out hope- don't jump on me!)

Didn't exactly make the front cover did it? It's buried on the website. Not exactly earthshattering to the general masses.

I posted there yesterday asking again if the band was still planning on releasing a statement about the allegations. It wasn't up more than a few minutes before it was locked and then deleted a few minutes later.

Rolling Stone lost its reason to exist and credibility years ago.

No offense to Deano- but I thought the google post from the crew guy in Europe was a lot more damning. Too bad, I like Augeri a lot.

Well, it's pretty tough to blow off if you know live sound. There were also photos. When I read that, THAT was when I lost the faith.
