FTLOSM tour question(s)

Always wondered, never followed up, bet someone here can tell me.

Was the tour cancelled? What happened?

I took time off to drive an hour and a half in the pouring rain to buy my ticket. Took day off the day of show to find out it had been postponed and the venue changed from the Gailliard to the N. Charleston Coliseum. I think the sign on the door said something to the effect of Perry having the flu or some other illness. So I took time off again to go back, got there and it was cancelled. Went back a 4th time to get a refund, again in the pouring rain. In those 4 trips I nearly got creamed by a logging truck that lost its load, got a traffic ticket, my car broke down, and lost my job for taking so many days off. It was not a good scene all around.

So... was that the end of the line? What was the official explanation?

Thanks in advance

Sony stepped in and offered up an obscene amount of money (according to Smitty) for Journey to reunite. That's the story and I'm stickin' with it. 8)

In other words, Perry saw green, his favorite color. He said he had "bronchitis" and cancelled the remainder of his tour. And that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Oh goody, add another reason to be ticked off about the cancellation. Glad I didn't know that then! Thanks for the info.

Somebody tell Steve he owes me 2 tanks of gas and an electronic control module for a Dodge Shadow.

With all his money, I don't think that would be a big deal at all. But then, he'd probably owe everyone else something too :-)

My wife and I went to Fort Worth to see him just a few nights into the tour, front row and it kick some serious ass, he NAILED "You better wait" and that song will destroy you, however, the 2 shows in Houston ended up being canceled with the "bronchitis" story....If he bailed for the reunion tour and TBF and cash, I ain't mad at em'......

What tour are we talking about? Seems to me, we're talking about two different tours. The Trial By Fire tour never happenrd. FTLOSM tour did...at least I saw him twice. It was pretty darn good.

According to the drummer for the Strange Medicine Band Steve had bronchitis and had to cancel some shows, then Sony came and handed him an ultimatum along with the offer of mega bucks to reunite Journey.

Nope, the Fort Worth show was live and kickin', we missed Sas Jordan though, oh well.....in 94' I believe he made all those shows, it's when he got into the 95' schedule that he got sick and I think Dallas and Houston were in 95'.....

and no, there was no TBF tour but it WAS planned for summer of 96', FORBES estimated that the tour would be worth 50 million dollers, one, if not the biggest in 1996.....thats alot of cake to go around....

He cancelled shows in '94, near toward the end of the year sometime. People drove out to the shows not knowing they were cancelled. He also didn't show for radio interviews occasionally, and was the butt of many jokes, including those of callers and the DJs.

So he sold his soul to the devil for the almighty dollar, and left another tour uncompleted.......

Didn't Moyes get into some trouble for telling personal stuff about Perry?

He should have, since he spilled the beans about Perry's "no comment" daughter...
