Here is my opinion. As for the show, OMG!!!! I could not believe it. I have never heard Deen live, either. This setlist, with the rain falling on the lawn in Charlotte, is a memory I will never forget. This show was the bomb. I will now say, having seen first hand, without reading reviews both ways, that Augeri will not return. This is IN NO WAY a slight on him, but this band is better than ever. They were laughing, having fun (Jon Cain included), and tight as hell!! JSS is a true showman, and those who say he cannot hit the high notes, I'm not sure where they get that. He once in a while would pull that mic. back and almost show the crowd he was about to hit one. HE HIT THEM ALL!! He pulled back from nothing. Anyway, had my wonderful wife with me (who has seen Journey 4 times now, and agrees with everything I have said so far), and we were both disappointed with DL. I saw them on the Hysteria tour, and my wife has never seen them, so she was excited. Now, for anyone who knows me here, I respect everyones opinion, and don't get into the arguments, but Journey OWNED Charlotte. Now, we were on the lawn, and I understand sometimes it depends on where you are. Long story short, Journey was spot on all night, and Def Leppard's sound STUNK from the lawn. I would have to wait for vocals on most songs to know what they were playing. Once again, I love them both, but I was disappointed with Def Leppard. There was a group of DL fans beside us (6 I think), who said themselves they wished they had seen more of the Journey show. They saw only 2 or 3 songs. They even said they did not understand why Journey played first last night. At any rate, take this review for what you will, but Journey is back and better than ever. They POUNDED DL off the stage in Charlotte!!

DL rocked as well, but I'd have to give the clear edge to Journey. I did think it was funny, that while it was my first Journey concert, I felt familiar having seen the majority of the band a couple of times in the 80's as Bad English (which also rocked by they way).
