! ATLANTA BOOT !

Being Jeff's good friend and webmaster for his media section I've been following this whole Journey-thing with him from day 1. More than anyone else I'm very much aware of Jeff's capabilities and I don't think the Atlanta bootleg is doing him any justice!
I think you all should know that Jeff's been singing EVERY week for the past 5-6 months with 'Boogie Knights' on the weekends, then blowing out his voice with sessions, the forthcoming Talisman album & his new solo stuff... and then Journey flew him over to stand in for Augeri who got ill!
Although concert reviews are great, the 2 weeks of recharge he gets at the end of this month will make him go on even stronger!... wait and see!

You're right, it's not doing him any justice because it's terrible.
I'll have to wait and see, but at this point, if I bought a ticket for this version of the band, I'd be mighty pissed off.

Thats exactly what I was- pissed off in Tampa. Hope his friends are right and he does better after a break cause Journeys hurting right now.

Hi.. best advice from a longtime poster/lurker you don't have to defend JSS here. His talent will prove he's aok to doubters and to those who think he's not right, you'll only fan their flames of you. Relax and let this play out.. it's literally not worth your time. If you get new clips come and tell the Forum and they can take it or leave it. One more important thing to remember is don't take it personal :wink:

I mean personally jss is just a stand in to me and steve a never could fill the shoes of steve p!! see there's all types in here lol and they just need a 30 yearold steve p wanna be to fill the void till they decide what there really gonna do.imo

I think I'd rather pay to see Steve lip synching than this! And of course, I picked THIS tour to shell out big bucks for prime seats through a broker -- 4 tickets. :roll:

Sounds to me like Mr. Soto had enough on his plate already. I can not see singing Journey's catalog improving things for him. I can only see it harming his voice in the long term. The question is for him if it is really worth risking your entire career on a nostalga band?

The band is at a crossroad. It's time to bring back Perry (if he so chooses) or call it a day. I love JSS and am looking forward to seeing him for my OWN pleasure. I just don't think he'll work for the long haul. There is a chance, as there always is, that they find the 1 in a million like they did Perry and develop a new direction, but I don't see it happening. The dude in Brooklyn with a sore throat was used, abused and let himself be the center of a fraud. He's out in my books. Minus Perry and Herbert this band probably spiraled downward as fast as they possibly could. As of right NOW they have nothing going for them other than riding Def Leppard's coattails. That is so sad to say. They WERE so much better than DL. :oops:

First off, if I was in charge of Journey, we wouldn't be as fucked up as we are now. I would guarantee you that much.

Secondly, I wouldn't want to manage this band ever...Not now.

It makes me wonder if it really even matters who the singer is or not anymore. They won't push anything new, they won't deviate from the 'Dirty Dozen' and they have done nothing but present a take it or leave it attitude with the fans.

Unless changes are made soon, they're as good as dead.

The Only the Young boot on the JSS shows he can sing, but you can also hear that he's straining. These songs are not in his natural range. Jeff has a great voice, but not for Journey in the long run.
