My Take On The Whole Thing

Postby Citygirl » Wed Jul 19, 2006 11:12 pm

I've watched this whole thing since it started, and my take on it is:

1. Steve is not coming back. I know they say he is, but I just don't buy that. Too much has happened for him to come back even if his voice did improve. The whole lip synching issue would blow up again and they'd always have it hanging over them. I hate to say it, but as much as I liked his singing, it might be better for him if he didn't re-appear.

2. I've got mixed feelings about Jeff being in there. He is good, but he's so different from their other singers... I'm all for not having clones, but some bands can go from one extreme to the other. Time will tell though.

3. As for Deano and whether he brought them down, I would say he played a big part in it and that the guys probably did read his blog and the message boards regularly to see what was being said. Whether it was true or not, it would still have caused them problems and they made it worse by not commenting.

1) Until the say on e way or the other, I will say Steve is coming back
2) U gained a lot of respect at the Nashville show for Jeff. Will not make a final judgement until end of tour, then it will still be iffy since there is no Journey music with him.
Van Halen is a good example of a different vocalist working (Hagar) and not working (the 3rd guy)
3) no comment on Deano, but yes no statement from Journey was not a help for them-ERIC
