Would Steve Perry Be Accepted Again?

Postby Distant Voice » Thu Jul 20, 2006 6:11 pm

What if 2006 was a landmark for a final solo album & a possible tour?

Could we say goodbye & let go? ...wish him well?

I think everyone is entitled to their own life... don't you?

I would love that. I said goodbye and let go long ago...but to have an ACTUAL "FINAL" album...That'd be great.
I'm gonna guess that it's not going to happen though, unfortunately. I love hearing new stuff from him. Even bought the "Quest For Camelot" soundtrack. 'cause it had New songs by Steve Perry. $12 down the drain but oh well. LOL.
I hope to GOD he does SOMETHING, though, and not leave everyone hanging like he has since at LEAST TBF.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Everything happens for a reason ...

You've not heard the last of Steve Perry's solo work...you have no idea what's ahead !!!

Timing is everything right now...and the time is closer than you think.

Neal Schon recently made a comment to the LA times editor that he's glad to hear Steve Perry is recording again, Steve will be on uncle joe's (benson) show ...sometime in october or november to talk about this new farewell album (studio album) ...he's talking about featuring the strange medicine group once again...HOWEVER this is a farewell album & no major tour will follow.

It has been talked about behind closed doors, Steve Perry is arranging a 10 city tour sometime next march or april. in Los Angeles,Ca and ending in New York, Ny...stay tuned...

Looking forward to it. Hope he actually does Houston or even better, College Station (Texas A&M if y'all don't know where that is.lol) I'd love to see him live. :-)

I posted in another thread that he has been writing and enjoying singing again. Uncle Joe confirmed that the comment he made to someone about Perry in the studio was true. No details, just a simple yep. I would be knocked out to know he would do another solo CD and if he played 10 cities, I would make every show I could. I just hope this isn't planned for the friggin' winter in a bunch of northern cities where ice & snow always screw up travel plans. I would NOT want to miss this, IF there is any truth to the possibility of touring.

Had to edit this to ask you DV, I don't know what you are getting at with the title of this thread. It doesn't jive with your post.

Yep. I actually am still of the opinion that if he went back the tour would be in the league of VH, U2 and The Stones, BonJovi, Genesis, The Police would be. Some think that opportunity was missed in '96-'7.

It would also be the death knell for the band (after the last show, however long through the tour that would be).

I'm the guys, I'm loving the Augeri, JSS present just fine playing the 10-20 k sheds like most big groups just outside the above echelon.

With all due respect, sir / ma'am(?)

Do you know HOW MANY TIMES we've heard all this before, over the last DECADE???

Only to have it be bogus.

I mean, he was supposedly going to do something with Tommy Denander...and nothing.

Are you behind these closed doors too? What has Moyes and Lincoln had to say publically about recording with SP recently.
Anyway, what was I saying.........

I can't see him EVER saying "this is my final album/tour"... he seems to think leaving everyone hanging has always been a good plan.

I understand your feelings about this, it was talked about back in 2004, but certain legal issues couldn't be resolved, certain schedules conflicted with others, plus the timing wasn't right after going into details of it all.

It became another idea rather than reality

Everything is being discussed in certain circles right now, as you know things like this don't just happen in one day,

It will be announced officially through Fanasylum.com when the details get worked out.

This sounds almost like it's from the Apochrypha. Exactly WHERE did you read about any of this? You said LA Times. Do you have a link someplace? He's actually in the studio NOW recording a FAREWELL CD, to be followed by a tour?

Hey the boys have been around for thirty years and all in a big way because of the voice I honestly believe if it wasn't for him there wouldve been no journey today or atleast no where near the following they have now!So if there's a farewell tour or album coming out of course it is gonna sell!!Big time!!

probably sell as much as Strange Medicine did, which wasn't great. However, with the DSB stuff, maybe I'd be wrong.
I'd like to hear the stuff he did with Nuno Bentencourt.

Why he's Distant Voice, of course. And he has always claimed to "know" stuff about Perry. Of course nothing he has said up to this point has happened. Now it appears he is saying it was being discussed, but didn't happen. Makes himself appear to be correct even when nothing has happened.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The band would have to be totally stupid to give up what they have now, only to be screwed by Perry once again.

And to answer the question: No, not unless hell freezes over, which isn't going to happen.

It's not Lora Beard. She posts here very rarely, with her own name.
