Nope. No phone call last night. None today.
It's 1:30 PM right now.
So that's it.
CUT.
That's how I operate.

Well, you are right to be pissed.
That's no way a pro musician should behave when he's part of a band.Just hope he didn't have an accident or something...

That bites...
I hope that there was a legitimate reason (i.e. family emergency, etc) for the no-show. No excuse for not calling, unless of course HE was the family emergency. Otherwise, his rep with you is shot. If he was out dicking off, got drunk, skipped out for the helluvit, I'd have canned him too.

Thanks you guys....
One thing that I forgot to mention (because of my temper

)
We DID manage to play 3 songs before we got canned by the Manager - we pulled off
"Stone In Love" - with no bass....and people ROCKED OUT!!!

He let us go on because we told him that the Bass player was running late; he was at work (which was the truth).
The thing that makes my BLOOD BOIL is the fact that we had a FULL HOUSE of people - in OUR AGE GROUP!!!
That's NEVER happened before....
Praying that we can get BACK in there.....with a REAL PLAYER in tow...

Hell I can play bass, it isn't too difficult. Howewver, you have to pay me what I make and buy my plane ticket.
Seriously, Nora, I can play a little bass, but, if you want "to get backin there," offer to play free for a night of two, and make the bass player pay the band for it's time, and make him buy the booze....
While you're at it, cuss his ass out publicly in front of the band.

That sucks big time. Feel for you guys, I've had 'em a little late but never a no-show.
Good luck with the search.

Man, that SUCKS Nora! Sorry to hear it. Sadly, I've pretty much gotten out of playing live anymore because of the lack of responsibility that I've seen and experienced with too many musicians.
Hope you find someone that works for you.

Sorry Nora.
If I lived anywhere near CT I'd help out for a couple of gigs as long as it wasn't TOO much Rush. Geddy can play the hell out of a bass, whereas I can't. LOL.
Hope the new search doesn't take too long

Since he wasn't hurt, and since he could have at least called to tell you of his dastardly plans, can you haul the dude into court, and hold him responsible for the money, time, and possibly reputation, that you lost for that night?

Actually, I was wrong. The mature thing to do is to dump a bag of sugar into that fuckers gas tank, stick 2 bananas in his tailpipe (his car, not his ass), Vaseline his door knobs, stick those gay coloured rainbows all over his sled; you know thew ones, the rainbows, and also some, "I love cock in my hole and am man enough to say it"..... and finally, get him drunk, and let him pass out, and then have Mark pull out his crank and stick it next to his face......take a picture, Xerox it 1000 times, and put in under every windshield at his work, and the bar he hangs out in. That should do it.
Fuck, it sounds so fun, let me handle this!

dude that passed out part sounds like a card game I had a few months ago, where my cousin passed out first, poor soul. He'll never live the pics down of a vibe next to his lips...
Anyway... sorry to hear about the bass player. Maybe you can pre-record some...? naw j/k

Dude, in college, at Washington State, I made the mistake of getting too cozy with Mr. Jaegermeister. The next morning, there were pics of me all over campus "enjoying dick" and it was so severe, all I could do is laugh. That is the day I learned to laugh at myself. I know I would never blow dudes, but the pics showed choads around my face..NOT in it, (stop typing NIG and 13).....
It is all in good fun.

Well, by "default" (me), he HAS to be! LOL
He's from the "ProgRock" genre; I'm from the 80s "Arena Rock".
Throw it in a blender, and you have TRAG.

Jeez Nora, that SUCKS big time! I don't understand how the guy is able to do something like that and then live with his conscience. In a tight environment like a band where everyone depends so much on the other person this is just unconscionable.
Hope you find a wonderful, RELIABLE replacement very soon. Is this the same guy who played on 11th House? Wonder how he'll react when your record gets airplay and the accolades start to come in.
Take care and continued wishes for the success you so richly deserve,
Kim

Thank you very much Kim...I really appreciate your support - and EVERYONE else's, too.
You guys are fantastic.
Actually, no - he didn't play on the CD - we had another guy we hired, and then HE quit!
So, our Producer Steve Clarke - who is an AMAZING Jazz & Funk Bassist and HUGE in Europe - stepped in at the last minute.
"Spinal Tap" had exploding drummers.....TRAG has disappearing Bassists.
....hey at least I can laugh about it today....

You deserve the support, Nora! Hey, just had a thought.... Steve Perry is an excellent bassist, and he doesn't seem to be doing anything... Why not give
him a call???
