My Indy Review

Got into Indy around 12:30am and into the hotel after enduring terrible traffic and construction, as well as thunderstorms with torrential downpours, high winds and lightening the lit up the sky from horizon to horizon.

My daughter Valory then decided NOT to go sleep until 4:30 because she was all excited to see the "Journey boys", which was ok because then I was up to give Lori and Deb directions to the hotel as they were coming in from St. Louis.

Then I had to do a little computer work trying to fix some isses with email recieving but not sending, which STILL isn't fixed!!! On that note if anyone is a Mac expert email me and HELP me please!? ;)

The people at the hotel were kind enough to let us sleep in until a reasonable hour and then get ready to go the show.

So off we go to Applebees to meet up with everyone. I finally got to meet Frank and Barb, my fellow RV supporters! As well as seeing Arthur and his lovely wife, Dave and his adorable daughter Angelica, Lori, Deb, KC, Scott...and that's not everyone but I want to FINALLY get to the show part.

We got to the venue a little early and picked up our tickets and then off to the meet and greet.

We got in and had a chance to speak to the guys briefly before the show. The best part was getting to meet Jeff and talk with him a bit.

I have to say that Jeff is a really nice person. He is humble and thankful for the chance he has singing for Journey as Steve heals up. I got the impression from Jeff that he is as big a fan as we are, and that his is living the whole "Rock Star" thing for real.

He also got the Valory seal of approval. The little one was enamored of Jeff, she was a little shy at first, but warmed up to Jeff in a big way.

Here is a picture from the Preshow M&G

The show ROCKED. Like everyone else I was really interested to hear Jeff sing. WOW. One word...and it says it all. He really rocked out. The set list and everything were already posted. Hearing Deen sing Open Arms and Faithfully was a highlight for me, and but I cannot say enough about the job Jeff did. It was different from Perry or Steve, but good different. I really like the growl Jeff has in his voice. The guys REALLY looked like they were having fun. Jeff adds a lot of energy (READ: maniaical energy) and the guys were having fun playing off of it!

We went back briefly after the Journey set to say goodbye to the guys and Valory was in 7th heaven. She wanted to give roses to "Mr. Soto" (as she calls Jeff) and to Ross. We got to see the rest of the guys, too. Deen was another big hit with Valory, she ran across the floor to get to Deen and give him a hug. She had great time seeing her Journey boys and so did Emily and I.

I know many people miss Steve and want him to get well and come back, but I urge everyone that hasn't seen Journey with Jeff to give him a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for that review, Stuart -- fun read!

I'm seeing them at the end of next month and I really am looking forward to seeing JSS in action. I'm not 100% convinced, but I trust your opinions, so I'm a little more excited now. :D

Morons!! Please read
Ive been here some time now...decided to sign up...this forum is riddled with repulsive, small minded, and small-dicked, (evidently), little toss-pots

I dont know who the moderators are here.. but they should be shot..... the language used here is excessive...and the abuse seems very personal

What Monker says is correct

There seems to be about half a dozen people here who are ignoring Andrew's requests...and plainly just not interested in keeping this forum "clean and informed" they quite clearly are just "taking the piss" out of Andrew..and have no respect for his wishes at all .....

It all makes for pretty pathetic reading, from an "outsiders" point of view.. I think a few have lost the plot here.... the place needs to be "cleansed" of the detritus, .. (I think the word "morons, was used..how apt..as the standard of post here is pretty moronic) and needs to be rebuilt

Adios to some of you I think, when normality returns

Hey Stu! It was great meeting you as well...I didn't notice until now that Valory's eyes were closed in that picture. Perhaps it's my camera's fault? Anyway, your picture turned out a little better than mine did.

So..you got the vibe/impression that Augeri is coming back? Just wondering from folks who have chatted up the band.

 Good question Eric....Stuart, did you get a chance to ask about Augeri or did the guys seem tight lipped about it?

Sorry I was riding herd on a 3 year old, I barely had time to ask the guys THERE how they were doing let alone asking how Steve was.

I was there at the meet-n-greet with Stu and, yes, the JSS here is the real Jeff Scott Soto. They have wi-fi on the bus and he says he spends a lot of time online. He told me he "I have no life, always online..." He said it's his way of communicating between shows so that he can rest his voice.

Yep...He's a very nice, down to earth, guy. Didn't get to talk to him too long but snapped a couple pics with him and my daughter, and Stu and his family (they forgot their camera... :) ). The other guys were gone by the time we were done chatting with him, so I didn't get to meet them.

BTW, I added some comments to my previous post.

Yeah, I thought it was kinda funny that he said he has no life. Hmmm...He was singing for Yngwie Malmsteen's band when he was 17. Played with some of the finest rock musicians in the world in Soul SirkUS and how he's in Journey for the summer. Nah, he doesn't have a life.

Good on ya, Jeff.
