Glen Beck Fill-In on Journey

Postby Ash » Sun Aug 06, 2006 1:01 am

I posted this in the Styx thread also, but since it makes a big reference to Journey I thought you all would find this entertaining.

Here we go... runs about 12 minutes... takes a few calls. Note: you will not hear song audio due to licensing restrictions on the feed I got - so he will refer to songs being played that you cannot hear. Legal reasons. Take it up with the RIAA.

He talks more about Journey and Queen (and to some extent Van Halen) than Styx... but still... the reference to Gowan (who it's obvious that he has no idea who Gowan is) is pretty funny.

He's a talk radio host out of San Antonio and a friend of Glenn Beck's who fills in for him occasionally when he's on vacation.

Thanks for that Ash I did get a couple chuckles.
Personally I think a band should be able to carry on
with the same name and also....
No I do not think that the band sounds the same when the
lead leaves.

I can think of two bands though that changed leads and
sounded the same to me and I had no clue.....
The Little River band, absolutely no clue they changed leads.
Had a clue here I knew Sammy stepped in and
I think Sammy Hagar did great in Van Halen.
Those are the first that come to me.

I never listen to Glenn's show when he's not there -- what's the point!

I did go into the archives and listen to the last hour where he talked about this. I think Joe represents the casual Journey fan's POV. I winced when he referred to JSS as "a dork jumping around". I'll find out 3 weeks from today if Journey is over for me too.
