Oh, a lazy Saturday afternoon, 75 degrees ( sorry east coast), and Lula and I were wondering where the hell TNC is?
We huddled up and thought a good way to bring em out of his hole, would be to talk about a great tune, called Believe.
Yes, It's not even a song, but I want to fuck with TNC.
We miss seeing the burger.

Great song, not really Greatest hits, but better than okay sounding-ERIC

It's an okay track but it's a bit too repetitive and seems to be missing something. Not totally bad, but not great either.

It's ok... drags on too long, but it could be a lot better with some editing.

It's alright.
Sometimes I skip over it, sometimes I don't. Too long and repetitive.
It's still better than 'Gone Crazy.'

When you find a moment from calling me and Deano's sexuality into question, perhaps, you could enthrall us all again with how the song "Butterfly" nearly moves you to tears.

No, the song is not better than "Gone Crazy".
The vocals on "Gone Crazy" may not be for everyone, but the tune was written by Neal, who at least is trained in the elemental basics of songwriting (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.).
And NO, Believe's modifications to basic song structure do not qualify it as being "progressive" or "ground breaking", - simply boring.
It's one long interminable car crash.

What a complete jackass you are. Go back offline and plot out more staged arguments with dean.

Congratulations.
You're officially as deranged as the Perryheads; who similarly accuse me of individiually rallying posters to my defense and strategising with them in advance.
I see a post and respond to it.
Simple as that.

BTW, I still love this song, Believe.
Interestingly, though, it's been knocked down a peg or 2 anymore. OOHW's surpassed it now, I'm thinking permanently.
But Believe still probably has my #1 favorite Augeri vocal parts

Good songwriting does not necessarily include following a song structure such as that mentioned above. "Abacab" by Genesis is a good example of a decent tune that doesn't follow the formula.

Abacab is a really good tune, IMO-ERIC

On Genesis and loose song structure.. and where a song went no where, yet worked..Check out "man of our times" from "Duke"

As addressed in my earlier post, deviations in conventional writing structure do not make "Believe" anymore progressive or interesting.
With that said, u are correct, many songs DO benefit by breaking from the confines of basic structure.
Absolutely.

Better than "Livin To Do" JoePa?

I love Livin' To Do, but not as much as Believe and I don't think Augeri's performance is heads and shoulders above like on say, Believe, Knowing That You Love Me, or even The Time.
It's just a good, workmanlike Augie effort and the highlight is Cain detroying all on the Hammond outrol w/ neal at the end. god that's an awesome part of Livin' To Do.
Plus I just don't roll with 'postrophes in titles.

Just so you know Neal could have anything he wanted from me on "Livin To Do" from 3 minutes and 8 seconds into the song.

Yes, LTD is a mighty cool song, indeed.
That blues vein they go into is one I really wish they would flesh out into a full album one time.
I think Journey could put a blues (blues/rock) record out that would shame Aerosmith's Honkin' ('nother fuckin' 'postrophe) On Bobo, which is an amazing blues album.

'Believe' co-writer Tom DeRossi was in Journey?
News to me.
Outside of Steve A, no Journey members contributed in the making of this sonic aberration.
It was composed initially as Augeri solo-fare, and probably should've remained that way.

Sounds like a reggae Journey tribute band. "Don't Stop Believin' Mon".
