Behind the behind the music

Can anyone tell me whatever happened to that nice gal who was going to be giving weekly reports on the road, and interviews on Journey's big tour after the walk of fame, but then disappeared from Journey life? I don't remember her name but she seemed pretty dedicated to the band, was strange how she dropped off the earth that way. Journey Cat I think they called her.

All I know is that she left BT. There wasn't any reason given. Just a goodbye thread, I think, to say that she was moving on. :D

From what I heard through the grapevine, Journey's tour manager was not treating her very well. That's all I ever heard though.

That could be true, Fire, but I didn't pursue it. I just looked at the thread and let it be. Whatever went on behind the scenes, it led to Journeycat leaving. BT should get on the honesty wagon, but that will never happen.

Is it really the fans' business? If she got fired I can't see why Journey would want to explain it on the forum. She was just a moderator...

As much as I hate that forum she was pretty revered there. There's even a thread about her still going. They need to get rid of Caroline. She is a #$#$ %$# ^&**%$ $%#@ **& I'll be nice Andrew.

Journeycat was a key Moderator on BT and a great friend to many, many fans of the band and well as being very well liked by the band members themselves. She often acted as the voice of the fans to Journey's management. Why she left is a private matter - it may have involved personality clashes with certain people, but to her great credit she has not made an issue of it and has kept the matter very private. I believe Cat is still around and is still in touch with one or two close friends on BT, but she no longer posts on BT.

As to Carolyn (CJ) who took over the main responsibilities from Cat, I know she's not popular with one or two people here, but I think she has done a great job in very trying circumstances. The Mods get shedloads of crap to deal with from people intent on pushing rules to the limits and beyond, both on the forum itself and outside of it. While they don't always get every decision right, every decision they do make is in the best interests of the forum and the majority of people that post there, while maintaining its presence as a promotional tool for the band. Unlike MR, BT is a family oriented forum and gets a significant number of youngsters viewing - some of them would be absolutely traumatised if the language and vitriol over there matched what is commonplace here.

Also, bear in mind that while CJ may be interpreting the rules on BT, she hasn't set them. They are (I believe) dictated by Journey's management.

Cat was not fired, she resigned. Why she resigned is between her and the band. And she was more than "just a moderator" -- she did a lot of work behind the scenes and worked her ass off. She is sorely missed.

I never said she was fired, I said IF she was... I don't know obviously.

But regardless, I don't see why they would have to explain the reason for anyone leaving their organization. It's not our business and BT doesn't need to be "honest" about it.

Huh? CJ does a great job at spinning...She is a spin doctor, and personally, I have absolutely NO ill will towards her. During the tapegate war, she was just doing what her Generals told her to do.

As far as Cat goes, let's not sugar coat it....She got run. She clashed with JT and that was that. Seeya.

Quit spinning her departure. She was run.

She wasn't just a moderator, she was a fan. By the way, she dissapeared not only as the chief moderator, but she walked away or was forced away from being behind the scenes of some very big shows on a major tour, where she was going to give reports. Ok, so she got a job or life got complicated, but I think its strange that someone that dedicated to the band, didn't even return to the rank and file. Ever heard from her at BT, or around here, or anywhere, since then? I think there is something stranger to this story than what we know--which is nothing I guess.

I am wondering if she knew anything about the lipping, or they let her go before it happened. :D

Good point. I think there is a big story here though. I really hoped someone here had the low down. Maybe someone who knows her and isnt gagged, by the band. I hate how communist our buys can be.

Yeah, it does see kinda weird that she just quit posting on Back Talk, The Cooler, etc., altogether.

I don't know if anyone here has the low-down on it. I did find Journeycat's goodbye thread, and it is dated July 19, 2005, way before Deano broke the lipping thing. :D

Augerifan quit right after her, probably because of it.

I heard that she got a full-time job in Great Britain trying to keep Heather Mills out of Paul McCartney's house. After that she stopped posting.
