Sadly, I'm not holding my breath for that one. That's not to say I wouldn't be happy about it, just not holding my breath.

They brought in about 10 strippers and plunked them in the front.

Folks that paid for 5 star tix got screwed.

The pre-Perry songs could be salvaged and put on a band dvd retrospective.
The other stuff remains sadly unusable.

It could be used as a great Journey blooper. Gotta love bloopers.

Ok, I can't say I blame them. Bring in the Herd...yeah, that will look real good on a DVD...A bunch of Rhinos and Hippos who escaped the Dallas Cuty Zoo, bumpin around at a Journey show....What? Did they think there was grazing areas in a Dallas concert arena?

I can't say I blame the band for this one. Fuck, I would hire about 200 full time hotties and give away the first 4 rows of EVERY show, so the Herd couldn't show their puffy grills and fat asses all the time.

There are only a handful of good looking Journey regular chicks, and I am not naming them, but I know 3 of them are in California.

No, but I would still like to own it. Maybe it will be released. But for now, highly doubtful-ERIC

Give away 4 rows for hotties is fine.

This did not happen...They did not have seats...The got planted infront of folks that paid for the seats.

Got nothing against eye candy, but folks that paid top dollar got porked by this move.

LMAO. There were a lot of hot women on the lawn in Houston though. :-)
And NO on the DVD, unfortunatly. Always SOMETHING with releases. Even if it DID see the light of day...I don't know if I'd buy it. Sad huh? :?

And YOU would know this how?? Have YOU personally screened any of the footage? This was supposedly a professional production, unlike the Warfield show in 2003.

If the Generations DVD was released, and that is a BIG IF, do you think Journey would want a visual reminder to fans about the lipping thing? Just food for thought......... :D

Can't imagine they'll have enough interest in the product to even release it. How many people really want what is nothing more than karaoke, and maybe not even that. Musically it was an outstanding tour though. Outside of Neal's playing, the DVD would be very boring to me.

TNC is correct.

Why did they waste money recording it? It seems like they never planned on releasing it anyway.

Maybe they did, pre-Deano & tape-gate

Good point. As with all of their poor decisions it just boils down to poor management. They've become a wayward ship. They're floating along, seemingly doing fine. It's just that they lack direction.

No, there was a huge gap between the tape scandal and the filming of that show. No news whatsoever of a real DVD in the works even before tapegate. It never seemed to me like they were very motivated to release it, so I wonder why they actually taped it...

Correct me If I'm wrong, but wasn't the show taped by the venue and not Journey's team?

Do the math people.

Dallas wasn't released, because some certain fans were onto them....Thanks Steve Augeri, for your failure to be able to sing good enough live for the band to release a live dvd/cd. That's the reason folks, you will NEVER see a zjourney CD/DVD released form the 2nd lineup. Augeri simply couldn't sing good enough, and if you don't believe me, fuck you...I know better.

Tapegate will be the best thing to ever happen to Journey excluding the Classic years...

I was reading the Herbie Herbert interview the other day and he said Steve Perry had a deal “prohibiting the members of Journey from ever re-recording any songs that were previously recorded with him.” Azoff made a deal with Steve Perry allowing him to let them re-record and shoot the 2001 DVD in exchange for final editorial control of what was said and shown on the Behind The Music episode. My question is was this a one time deal or was it permanent. Does Steve Perry still have the right to refuse re-recording tracks that he sang on? If so then maybe that is why this DVD is not going to be released. If not then it is the tapegate issue because he was lip syncing at the time of the recording right?
