What is it that draws you all here

Is it the general gossip ?

to pick up great vid clips and mps's ?

well.... what is it ?

pray do tell?

AGREED
Plus, as crazy as some of the gossip is, it is just so much fun arguing about it all :)

Some folks call it their home away from home. I'm sure that Schon checks in regular. He admitted that he was addicted. He would have more of an interest than most.

It's a pretty varied group of Journey fans with staid opinions and the difference of opinions is what makes it popular, imo.

I like the honesty, most of all.

And if people in the "biz" ARE lurking, they'll get the pure, unadulterated, BLUNT TRUTH.

Whether they want it or not.

More exciting than Back Talk... more interesting (and mindless) than playing Sudoku... some of the posters I really enjoy reading, and I think I must be some sort of masochist.

There are several good reasons...

  1. Diversity of opinion
  2. Cool people
  3. Entertainment factor (rants by Deano & TNC, in particular are priceless at times Image )
  4. Bootleg info
  5. Intro to other great singers, particularly Jeremey & Nora.

1. The opinions posted here are honest and raw. Sure there are arguments. But some of the posters are really really funny even when arguing. There are some very clever people here.
2. I also enjoy hearing from people who are actually musicians or in the biz & their take on things. That rings true 4 me a lot more than some fan who just adores a guy in red leather pants whether he's lipping or not.
3. Fantastic boots shared by very generous people.
4. The opportunity to experience some of the talent w/in the group whether they're performers in their own right or lookalike/soundalikes like u Neil.

It's addictive because it's funny and we can debate things without getting told off.

I take back anything I said against Andrew allowing it all. You did right Drew! It's made for some great entertainment!!!

its all about the FUN...without being watched like a 10 year old.... :)
and of course the passion of why we are here in the first place... Journeys music...

it does remind me of the original BT cooler of 5 years ago....

Why is the Journey forum so addictive?

It's because there are immediate grounds for controversy: 33% are hardcore Perry fans, 33% are hardcore Augeri fans, and the other 33% don't give a damn and/or are JSS fans.

I've wondered about this too. The official Journey forums are busier than all of the other classic rock band forums combined, except for maybe the dozens of David Lee Roth / Van Halen forums. Hmmmm... let's see... the forums that have the most forum members are both bands that have had three singers.... hmmmm..... I'd say that sums it up. People like to post stuff from a polarized viewpoint to start a debate. People love controversy. My Steve is better than your Steve, or DLR Rules and Sammy is Spammy! Whatever flavor you'd like, it's all here.

Jump right in and put on your sparring gloves. Start swinging at the first person who disses your favorite Journey singer. Try it, it's fun! LOL!!!!

HUGO IS THE ANSWER

If they want a great substitue until Augeri gets better, why don't they give HUGO a tryout.
As great a singer as Soto is, he is not right for this band.
At least give the fans the sound they want until Steve can come back. It will make for a great show.
HUGO is definitely the guy for this, he is doing a Journey tribute band now. Check out his website at journeyshow.com
It would be a story just like the movie Rockstar, guy gets to live out a dream.
(Soto could appreciate a story like that)
