Vinyl albums

Once upon a time I had quite the record collection. I still bought them when everyone else had gone to tapes (and I buy them even now, if/when I find one I want.) Now I'm down to maybe 50-60 albums.. the rest kinda wandered off with my sister/cousins/etc.

As far as Journey goes, I have at least two copies of almost all their albums up to ROR plus a handful of 45s, including some DJ copies. My pride is the Dream, After Dream import LP with the Japanese labels and everything in it intact. (I bought a bargain-bin cassette of Dream to play. Think it cost me all of two bucks!) I only have one each of the first 3 Journey albums, plus all 3 on cassette, and three Street Talk albums.

Anyone else still do the vinyl thing? Or have a nice collection?

I've kept all of their vinyl I have... all the albums I know of and some 45s, some 12" singles I found in a store a couple of years ago. I miss vinyl.

I have about 750 vinyl albums. 1 of each Journey album except Dream After Dream which I could never find & I have Street Talk. I still play some of my albums once in a while. I will never part with them. I never collected 45s tho so only have a handful.

AFI, which 12" singles do you have? I don't think I ever got any of those, never ran across any either. Anyone know if there were any "picture discs" put out? I thought I saw one once but it was right pricey.

JRox, 750? Damn... I barely have room here for the ones I have! All the rest are in boxes at some other relatives' houses. I may well never see them again. :(

I move em with me wherever I go too. Doesn't make anyone happy but I won't ever part with em.

You do have Dream, After Dream in some form though, don't you?

Oh, yes, there are 2 picture discs... one Frontiers from Japan (which I have seen only once) and an Escape, which is pretty common on ebay I think.

Off the top of my head, the 12" singles I have are AWYWI, BGTY, I'll Be Alright, and Who's Crying Now. Maybe a couple of others, I don't know. They're mostly (if not all) imports.

Ebay is the key if you're missing Dream After Dream, JRox.

I donated all of my Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, and Iron Maiden vinyl albums to a local Pentecostal church's fund drive for the poor, but I think they may have burned them at their local witch hunt meeting. Those SOB's - those albums were priceless!

:(

I spent a while looking for it on ebay a few yrs back. Got ripped off by 1 seller who took my $, never sent it & left me bad feedback WTF? I haven't looked since. I should. To complete the Journey part of my collection. Oh but that will be 751. It's not even! There's a little "Adrian Monk" in me.

The record shop I used to go to was big on imports, so it was probably the Frontiers disc I saw. I remember it was insanely expensive at the time so I had to pass it up. I think I forked over 30 bucks for the Dream import and back then, that was almost too much money.

Surely there's another album you don't have?

You can get your money back if you file a dispute with ebay against the seller.

Monk is great! So that means you have to buy TWO albums, maybe you can find that Escape picture disc too. :D

Oh I tried that & got nowhere. PayPal found in my favor but the jerk had no $ in his acct by then. I havent bought much on ebay in recent years. Some concert tickets from people I know but that's it. I don't trust some of the losers on there that can't even write an email back. But now u have me wanting this album on vinyl just bcoz. Something about the sound of vinyl. I just like it at times. Pain in the ass to have to flip the record over to hear the other side tho.

I have a huge vinyl collection but still need "Dream After Dream.' I have two phono's that stack and play mostly classic rock all the time.

Glad to see that there are other collectors here.
