Tall Stories Tour 2007

Tall Stories with Steve Augeri kick off a series of 2007 tour dates in Japan on 2nd February!!!

OK so he had to resort to singing to tapes in his final days with Journey but that was simply to avoid canceling shows. I for one can't wait to see him on stage again!!

Bumping this in hopes that someone knows if ballbag is posting a myth or not....

Happy Wednesday!

There is nothing on this site or on BT about it.

My guess is it could be a rumour.

I thought the title of this forum was "Journey", not Everyone pile up Against Augeri?, Journey doesn't need defending and if someone wants to start another title why is it ANY of your business?

I'm not PILING UP ON AUGERI... Good God, I'm 'defending' him, FCS! Putting up garbage like this with no facts/resources to prove it will only start folks bashing on Augeri, i.e.
"Is he gonna Lip w/ them too??? Ha ha ha"
"He'll probably blowout his voice after 2 shows! Hahaha"
"He probably only took the Journey gig so he could get interest in TS again; there's nothing wrong w/ his voice, he quit on the guys! Hahaha"

What, you think I was calling Augeri a Homo with that little image???
I will admit to thinking the band is better off with JSS or (not wasting too much hope on this) 1 last run with Perry but I dug what Augeri did in the studio for 2 1/2 albums and would NEVER wish to see the guy go downhill health-wise. His voice is his instrument... I hope he gets well.

I'm not sure who you are quoting in those quotation marks... yourself? but you aren't a moderator and you don't need to put anything about homo's period=who ARE you calling a homo? someone that is excited about Augeri touring? I'm not fighting with you, simply stating that you don't need to add controversial messages to other people's posts just to bully. I love it when people that aren't even musicians come on this site and think they are experts on vocalists just because they bought the band's albums or went to a concert= that does not make you an authority.

This seems to be a legal impossibility at this point (the probable gag order). Their hasn't even been an update on his status with Journey or more importantly, his health. I think this is complete bullshit. Let's ignore this til we hear an official statement.

It looks like I offended you with the little "Homo" tag... I'm pretty surprised that you are so upset, considering FAR WORSE has been said on this site :) Apparantly you didn't understand anything I've tried to explain to you. And I'm not claiming to be any type of expert... I'm a fan (short for fanatic) and I have opinions too. Read all my friggin' posts again, dude or dudette, I was trying to keep Augeri from being bashed any further! This nut-job BALLBAG was just fishing, stirring the pot, trying to start trouble... Get it??? As for quotes, those were EXAMPLES of the kind of stuff that could easily been slagged in replies just to keep The Pot a' Stirring... Get it??? It was SARCASM! Go drink a few cans of some yourself & grow a sense a humor.

BTW, I may not be a "BigTime recording artist" but, aside from "Supporting and Defending", I happen to BE a musician (Vox, Guitar, Bass well enough to record own material, Keys, program all my own D-trax). With my family now, I spend all of my time playing in my basement to "an audience that ticks on the wall". Time has run out for my dreams but my little girl, Bella, is 6 and LOVES to sing and we are always having fun with that.

Personally, I hope Augeri told Journey to screw off for not standing up for him and I hope he IS touring with TS. The TS record was a great album. As an ALBUM it's better than Arrival or Generations. Those records are good, but Arrival is ballad heavy and Generations has the B team vocalist thing. TS rocks all the way through and it's more Augeri than "Augeri trying to be Perry" or "Augeri trying to please Neal". You know? It's a great album.

I can honestly say that I am not trying to start a "war". A very good friend of mine in Japan has an official list of upcoming gigs in certain venues for Winter/Spring 07 and Tall Stories is on there. Simple as. No malice intended. This is the only forum for Journey where we can discuss this stuff openly. Let's keep it that way.

Okay, thought you were calling people that liked Augeri=homos. I'm female/not homo... and I hate to see this site constantly trying to slam Augeri or the band in any way. Glad to know you didn't mean it that way...good luck with your music, sounds like you DO know what you are talking about. ....I believe Journey is trying to do the right thing and no one needs to keep digging to find out what the "true" story is, they make music and they get paid for it and that's about all the truth. I'm not accusing you of anything so don't take it that way, but there are alot on this site (which is sad since its a great site for musicians) that just want the TRUTH. We love the music, what more can we ask for? we don't have to listen to it if we don't like what they give us.

Oh and as for Carlitto calling me a nut-job. I don't take it personally, but surely it's better not to have knee-jerk reactions to posts you don't like. OK...my info came from promoters' booking listings and it's provisional but I got excited and posted it. Is that such a crime?

Sending you out an apology... you are right, I did knee jerk on that one. You got a PM explaining further...

Why can't Augeri stand up for himself.
Why couldn't he stand up for himself when they suggested replacing his voice with recordings.
Why are you speaking on the behalf of someone who clearly can't be bothered to stand up for himself

This may be true, but then how come Augeri couldn't re-create any of that TS magic during his time in Journey.
How come most of his writing contributions (Butterfly, Believe, Live & Breathe) aren't even worthy of the Journey name.

I don't agree. Augeri brought a lot to the party with Journey in the writing. As for bringing TS magic to Journey,
right! This is an established band for 30 years and he's going to come in and direct the sessions? I don't think so.
How do you know that he didn't fight the lipping thing? I bet it was a major tough sell for him. I don't know, but NOBODY would willingly do that unless there was no other way around it.
I'm not speaking for anyone. I just think that Journey handled the entire thing like sh*t. Augeri SHOULD says something. JOURNEY should say something.

They probably never will.

You can count the songs he is listed as principle writer on less than one hand.
It's a damn shame. I held such high hopes for him, too.
Aside from "Beyond The Clouds" none of his contributions even come close to TS or Shine.

I bet JSS will. Wait and see.

Because he willfully stepped on stage and did it.
And then did it once again in the UK.
And then did it yet again for the first few shows of the Def/Journey tour.

Unfortunately, I don't have the CDs with me to go through and see who wrote what, so I guess I can't answer to that. I do like a lot of the songs from his era. I know he wrote Believe and Butterfly on his own. You may not like them, but they're better than "Just the Rain", "TBF", "BackTalk", "Tuesday Heartache", or "Positive Touch". Songs are subjective. What you don't like, I may like, etc. I haven't heard the Shine album yet. I heard it wasn't great... Not sure if that's from Augeri or not.
If JSS brings anything, I hope it's not what he brought to SS. Hated it. Played it twice. It's a coaster now.
As for the lipping thing, we'll have to agree to disagree.
(insert 90s smiley thing here)

Wait: "Live and Breath", "To Be Alive Again", "We Will Meet Again", "Nothin' Comes Close"- these all have his stamp and they're great songs.
