Yeah, I still can't believe people send money to those guys. There are a handful of good ones I've run across and most, if not all of them, don't beg for money. Go figure.

You forgot to put, Augeristian, or Augerilic. There are some fruity people here who would vote along those lines.

I both have agnostic and atheist views...I do not find any existing religious explanations for life credible and I do not believe in the supernatural. However since we have been created, and there must have been some force of creation behind the big bang, the mystery still stands...Who is to say that evolution and the laws of nature are not divine in themselves?

I gave it some thought, but then realized it would confuse folks so I went ahead and voted Christian. It was the closest thing to Southern Baptist.

Southern Baptist

And yes as some said earlier, Religion kills, you can go to hell sitting in church, being a member of any denomination. It is Christ that saves, not being good, doing good things, or going and sitting in church every week-ERIC

I think as long as we are not blasting each other, this topic will be fine.

I once questioned my beliefs - I mean really questioned them. I went all the way back to the beginning. I came to the conclusion that Matter exists. Energy exists. In the scientific, physical realm it is impossible to get something out of nothing. So, even if I believed in the Big Bang, where did the Matter and Energy come from? My only answer was a god of some kind. And the only god that made sense to me was the God of the Bilble - Jesus Himself.

I came away with my biblical beliefs of Christianity and a young universe - 7 - 10 thousand years old. Yes, I believe dinosaurs were created the same day as cows and dogs and monkeys. I believe dinosaurs were on Noah's ark - he probably took baby animals. Even a baby Brontosaurus or Elephant is not that big.

The legends of Dragon Slayers aren't that old. I belive that along with disease and climate change after the flood that man hunted the dinos to extinction (or did they? We hear rumors of dino like creatures in Africa and South America from time to time). Would you want a T-rex coming in to your back yard? .

Anyway, this is not to get a debate going - just sharing my beliefs. I always love hearing from others as to their views of the universe and the afterlife.

Thanks for your time and attention. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Respectfully,

Knox

One question: what was the need of this thread? Having a religion or not is a personal choice for everyone! What are you gonna do now, try to convert the non-believer's on a Journey board????? Just wondering the intent, :?

I don't think anyone is trying to convert anyone at all. I love studying philosophy and human behavior as well as religion. I don't think there is anything wrong with being curious about other people's world view.

It may not belong in a Journey forum, but since it is labled OT, we can choose to answer or ignore.

I certainly don't think that I could influence ANYONE on an internet board. I just love hearing about other people's thoughts.

Heck, that's why we are on a Journey board, to hear other people's thoughts. Why not spread it out a bit if people CHOOSE to chime in?

My question was directed at the author of the thread, but to your response I have no argument. I just don't want to start seeing people slamming each other on religion. Like I said it's a PERSONAL choice! 8)

Just curious where everyone is coming from. Nothing more than that. It wasn't created with the intention of discussing religious beliefs or the validity of anyone else's. We talk about everything else here from sex to politics anyway, so there shouldn't be a problem with discussing religion, either.

This topic reminds me of the Jehovah Witnesses that came knocking on my door at 8:30am on a Sunday morning and my parents would be like "Who can it be now?"

I am thinking of looking into Sciencetology....
