Then this guy is "Vice-President"...God what a voice.

DAMN - he hits that tambourine hard! - If I did that, my entire hand would be black & blue LOL.

It's funny...this song came out when I was a Senior in HS....and I thought they were so old....seeing that video again, 21 years later, they look like KIDS!!! LOL

Great to see that video again. This - surely - is Foreigner's best song. :)

Matthew....WOW....thank you so much for that....gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes...

I loved how he was "economical" with his phrasing...notice he didn't spike the high note on the phrase, "I've been WAITing", like how it was done in the recording....he "walked it down", instead - and it still worked.

Does anyone know how Lou is doing now? Has he made any improvement since his brain operation?

Last I know he had lost a good bit of the weight he had gained after the surgery and was touring with his own band, doing solo and Foreigner tunes.

I saw them in August '98 and he was obviously heavier. We saw them at a bar in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Well, it's not just a bar. A lot of big acts play there. It's a very big place and they have a decent-sized stage. Anyway, it was in the mid 90s that day and just as hot inside (no AC). Lou was having trouble breathing and had to take a few hits from an oxygen tank throughout the show. He wasn't in the finest voice but he did okay.

We sat stage right, directly behind their soundboard. There was some chick standing in the soundboard area with part of the road crew and, about halfway through the show, she pulled her shirt up to reveal her boobs. I didn't see but my wife asked me if I did and explained what happened. She was escorted backstage by one of the road crew. I think she was trying to get the attention of their bass player, Bruce Turgon. Apparently she did.

Anyway, I believe Lou's wife was also standing in the soundboard area. She looked a lot different from the others there, so I assumed it was her since she seemed to be watching Lou very closely throughout the entire show. I know she's a Christian (so is Lou now, for that matter), so she probably didn't appreciate the whole showing off the boobs thing.

Yeah, this happened back in '95 or '96 or something like that. He began having memory problems, forgetting phone numbers and stuff that he had known forever. He also was having some headaches. He was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor that he probably had since he was a child but it had grown enough that it was now causing problems. They had to perform emergency surgery to remove the tumor.

Yep, I remember the name. I'm not as big a fan of that Petra era since Bob Hartman wasn't in the band but he did okay by them.

Actually, that song is an old KISS tune from the seventies that PETRA did a cover version of.

Are you talking about God Gave Rock n Roll To You? If so, that was originally recorded by Argent in 1970s. If not...apologies for the misunderstanding.

I heard a remake of I Want To Know What Love Is a couple of years ago on the radio - by a WOMAN - and it was simply wrong. Journey and Foreigner are two bands that can't be covered. "If it ain't broke..."
