Journey Related Office Story

We always listen to a classic rock radio station here at work in the afternoons; they play Journey quite often. The older ladies around here are familiar with almost all the songs played on the station because they are all greatest hits for the most part. Well they were playing Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ and my boss was singing it. The song ended and went to a commercial then out of nowhere my boss yells quite loud “They NEVER play City of the Angels!!” She then proceeds to sing the beginning “City of the Angels…” She says they are together on the album they should always be played together. I was in complete shock because I had no idea she knew that much about Journey. I’m mentioning it because I know a lot of you here always complain about it. Personally the only Journey songs I like to hear back-to-back are Feeling That Way/Anytime and the radio station here does that so I’m happy. Did they ever play City of the Angels together with LTS on the radio or is it a fan of the Evolution album type thing?

I've heard LTS and COTA played back to back on the radio once around here.

They did once....but it was a mistake.

I could just imagine what was going on at the radio station: Guy was probably in the Men's Room or something..."Eh, the end of that song takes forever..."

**DJ sprints back to booth to try to stop the record at ending**

"Na na nana na na nana na na na" "Cit - "

That's as far as it got....and the guy APOLOGIZED for letting the song run over!! HAH?!

I was like, PLAY IT!!

The only time I hear them both together is when it's Journey day/week/month, or on the afternoon DJ's show, since he's a bigtime Journey fan.

Back in the early 80s, I listened to WDVE in Pittsburgh and they routinely played them back-to-back.

KGGO does..... and YOUR BOSS IS RIGHT... that is how radio should play LTS... with COTA...its cheaped out in myopinion otherwise... And feeling that way/Anytime yep...that ALWAYS MUST BE PLAYED TOGETHER... I really felt cheped when the essential Journey did not have Feeling that way--but had anytime... what was up with that...

Funny that, the Classic Rock station in the Metro Detroit area always play them back to back. The same with Zeppelin's Heartbreaker / Living Loving Maid.

That aggravates me too! I'm always waiting for COTA to start, and when it doesn't I yell at the radio. Yeah, does no good, but I feel better. Anyway, there is one station here that I can only get when the weather is exactly 70 degrees with humidity of no more than 60%, on a straight stretch of open road, between noon and two on a cloudless day... their DJ plays them back to back. I've heard him do it twice in five years.
