The one on GH+5 is a demo version. This one you can tell his voice is more mature. This one to me isn't a demo by any means ! And I do have the alternate version of the song too...

Ahh..sorry, I get confused...but to confirm, are there two versions of this tune? (the alien project, and the FTLOSM 'era (that's gotta be Lincoln Brewster fill) or a 3rd?

From what I have, brandon, I have the one from GH+5, the one I posted here from 1994, and an alternate version. So yeah, that makes three of them.

*hangs head in further shame* I did. I loaned it to a friend. She moved away. Promised to mail it to me. Yadda yadda yadda. 3 months later...no freaking disc.
Is that one being remastered? I was gonna try to buy another copy but if it's getting remastered I'll just wait.

Well the situation was I went to her house to cheer her up after bf dumped her when he transferred & we sat around listened to tunes & got a bit drunk. I forgot to grab the disc when I left. I remembered the next day & planned to pick it up. But bf called, told her to pack her shit & move to be w/him. End of disc for me. Bitch has only called me like 2 times since she left. Typical girl thang.

Listen to Perry's voice in 1994. When he tried to go into a high pitch, his voice went dry and gravelly like Rod Stewart's. That is why Steve put his microphone away. That kind of singing is destructive to a 35+ year old. Look at how it shredded Augeri's voice in just a few years.
It's a good thing to know your limitations and respect them.

Hi
Many thanks to classicrocklady for the post, was very curious about the version of this song of which you spoke that you had. Upon listening to the song i have concluded that the version you have posted is from the 'You better wait' +4 cd single released in 1994.. Many thanks for the post anyway very much appreciated..
Lol makes me wonder what this alternate version you have sounds like ?? Don't suppose you could send me the link to that ?? As i have already that version you posted in this thread..
Many Thanks Again Classicrocklady your a star..

I can't tell any difference between the version from the You Better Wait CD single and the one listed as "alternate".

I've got one for you Clasicrockldy.
Do you have the Steve Perry song "Celebration"?
I've heard of it, but never actually heard the tune?

Well, I did get the alternate version from a person I traded with. It was on a cd that they burned for me of rare songs. I don't have the "You Better Wait" cd single, so I can't compare them.

Sorry, I should have clarified.
The You Better Wait CD single version is the same one that you linked at the beginning of the thread (listed as "If You Need Me Call Me 1994"). That one and the "alternate" one sound like the same version.
