Beyond the Clouds - Deen vox

Sometime in the process of reaming "Believe" a new asshole, I forget to mention a curious aside found on the band's last effort, "Generations".
During the song, "Beyond the Clouds", does anyone else notice the echo of Deen's voice from 1:55-2:01?
You can hear him trailing off after Steve on the words, "..the clouds...".
A similar effect was employed during the live accoustic rendition of "Trial by Fire".
Deen would re-iterate some of Augeri's words for additional dramatic effect and ambient mood.

As was demonstrated on "Higher Place" and later verified with this track, their two voices sound great together (Herbie always said they should've exploited this angle more).

Hopefully, sometime in the future Deen will not only get more lead vocals tracks of his own, but will manage to share a new duet with JSS.

How about on Feeling This Way & Anytime. Deen could do the Perry parts. JSS could do the Rolie parts. Might be interesting.

They can't have Deen singing enough as far as I'm concerned. Never noticed that on Beyond the Clouds, I'll have to have a listen. :)

I'd like to hear that.
I think JSS has already done those songs with Cain.

Fans have been clamoring for some new Perry/Rolie style duets for years.
While the fans we're given alternating vocalists on the last cd, there were no duets.

Really? I would like a boot of that. But Cain's voice is too thin really. I'd love to hear JSS/Deen do those numbers. They both have power in their lungs.

Yes, much like Perry, Cain sometimes sounds like he sings thru his nose, only in a really bad way.

Who does the backing vocal right at the end of "Only The Young"? Was it Cain?

Cain does a ton of BG vocals on "Only The Young", however, usually you have to strain to hear him underneath Perry. The tail end of "Only the Young" features Cain singing out of sync with Perry so his vocal is more prominent.
Need to really turn up your volume to catch that.
Good ear.

You should hear Deen sing Knowing That You Love Me.

WOW.

Us posters have no control over what our titles read.
Yours says "groupie", mine says "Kalodner".
It changes as you increasingly shun society, responsibilities, and spend more time here on the forums.

I take it you rode the short bus to school....

Yep, sure did. Thanks for the concern.

When you're ready to pull your head out of your ass and get back onboard and roll this forum up like we did in the old days with Cause and NIG, let me know.

It should be about honesty and truth....NOT blind defense of Augeri.

The sooner you see he is a mimer, the better off we will all be.

Deen did sing some lead on Feeling That Way/Anytime at some of the shows last year.

Just JSS and Deen would be outstanding.
