I wonder if Schon/Cain would have realized that Castronovo could sing when they were on tour with Bad English, if a new Journey could have sprung then?

It's been said in a few places that Deen doesn't want to be a frontman cos he's happy being the drummer.

So my opinion would be... no.

Actually, with Bad English Castronovo didn't have the opportunity to show what he could do drumming. The songs weren't made for him to shine.
I got to recognize his prowess and talents hearing Rush Tribute: A working man, what a drummer! 8)

Cheers

In an interview when BE came out, Neal spoke about Deen's great background vocals saying he sounded like Perry.

Man...I'm just thinking about the potential buzz back then of a Perry soundalike doing some songs live during the BE shows....

Doubt JW would have stood for it, I've heard he hated Journey because Cain left the Baby's to join Journey, JC has said the Baby's were splitting anyway as JW was going solo. What I've heard left me wondering which really came first. He supposedly also put down Open Arms, etc.

Who the hell would want to be in a band called "The Babies" anyway?

The Babys with open arms would have been the Journey that Journey might not have become... HEHEHE.. Even though John Waite did not want to do Open Arms----something tells me the song would have made to the next babys record, if Cain had not joined Journey....

The Babies never had a chance to be as big as Journey; Waite was/is a fucking time-bomb and would've destroyed any huge success they had. Talk about Egos!
