I had trouble with the DSB, it kept freezing up on me but loved Separate Ways, I think he sounded great!

I am glad u started a thread for these. That's cool. I hope people post more. What I hate about the cellphone clips is that u can't tell what's Jeff & what's 15 way off key drunkards. But it sure seems like people are having a real good time.

Someone will probably call me a critical bitch for this but...

I don't like the way Jeff sings the word "midnight" in the 2nd verse of DSB (just b4 Neal's solo). It sounds weird. He needs to work on that IMHO. He really sounds like he's totally nailing the rest of the tune. & I have to admit it's plenty Journey-esque for me. I like it.

I like alot of his Separate Ways but to my ears he's still really reaching on some of the very high parts for example the 3rd "in vain" and the "desert you" at the end. That was recent 8/22 so after his break. Sorry but I still say some of these notes are at the very top of his range maybe even just out of it. I would hate to see a man w/this wonderful a voice wreck it trying to do this for the next 8 years. I still say take it down a tad. No one will notice & let's save this talented singer's voice.

Overall stellar job to JSS tho. 4.9 stars.

Just my opinion of course.

Here's a different version of DSB:

This one completely rox. It's amazing. Watching this you can actually "feel" the excitement Jeff brings. & oh yeah he definitely sings like JSS. He's not trying to be Perry. He's adding his own touches. Listen to the "to find emotion" bit & the way he adds his own little spin right there. Really really cool. Oh and it's plenty Journey-esque. He is owning this song really well. Major kudos to Jeff for what he's done w/this song. I love it. (Coming from a Perryloon thats actually a pretty big compliment.)

Can y'all imagine how great this is gonna be when he's done a whole tour & they go into next yr's tour w/him as the official lead singer feeling really good, not hiding behind the "fill in" line? Damn. I wanna be there in the front row. :D
