One way for Journey to get MAJOR National Exposure

Their medicore management needs to follow Bon Jovi, Scott Stapp and the Chili Peppers and get them a gig at a NASCAR "Chase For the Cup" race Openning Ceremonies! That would be fucking cool!!!
Have the band perform 1-2 songs for the syndication, let Neal rip the SSB with AF Jets blowing over and then let Jeff say those 3 famous words... AFTER he gives a big, fat "STAND UP AND SHOOOOOOUUUUUUTTTTT!!!"

I know not all of you watch NASCAR but I do (Send that 20 car around, thank you) and that would definitely get Journey some serious exposure.
What do y all think???

Not a bad idea, CH.

BTW, that's FOUR words, as in "Gentlemen: start your engines!"

;^)

we missed you Carl over the weekend....you are right, that would be great at NASCAR or how about =Monday night Football? Superbowl would be awesome, but that's kind of far off into the future. p.s. one thing Jon Bon Jovi did at the concert I went to see this tour was get up into the crowd and sing to the ladies, the spotlight was just on him, now that's what women want=JSS if you are listening.....leave the stage a bit and watch them drop like flies!!!!

I know, 4 words but it's always "And now, so&so will proudly say those 3 most famous words..." They don't count the "Gentlemen". It's pretty funny if you think of it, what are they gonna say when a woman gets a full-time ride someday, "Racers" or "Ladies and Gentlemen"... Hmmm...

I think NASCAR reaches more of Journey's Demographic than the Super Bowl does...
NO, I'm not saying all Journey fans are Rednecks, :), but I think it would be a better avenue for them, especially all the follow on commercials they could be in over the following weeks, all the guys with the drivers giving that tagline, "NASCAR, How bad do YOU got it???" :)

Woot! Driving around in a circle endlessly!! Yee-haw.

Seriously...gas is fucking $3 a gallon and we still have these NASCAR assholes driving around in circles? Come on.

Hearing about Bon Jovi at a NASCAR event made me really depressed. Come on guys, you do just fine on your own.

I used to be just like you :)

But you can't deny how overwhelmingly popular the sport has become and the way it easily crosses over to the entertainment community. I just think it would be a great way to "expose" America to the band again since radio won't.

I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I accept the fact that millions of people are.

Nothing wrong with CH's idea...it's a good one.

You sound so ignorant in almost all your posts this by far the most ignorant one. The gas thing at this point in time can be a good argument but for you to call them assholes. Many of them actively contribute to charities of all sorts, some help underprivileged & sick children. I bet if U2 played at a race you would be all for it.

The only bigger waste of gas than NASCAR is a hummer. I'm sure they're nice people, but seriously, that's a huge waste of gas. The money they spend on gas in one race could probably feed a few hundred children.

Now if they did NASCAR races through the middle of Chicago with all the really slow-walking tourists, that would be worth watching.

Carlitto, I had this idea before, but never acted on it...not saying you stole it...anyway, I never thought Journey management would ever do such a thing. They were/are always so fucking passive. Well, now we know why, don't we? It helps to have a singer who well, sings.

I can totally picture Neal playing SSB, with jets flying over....

To you NASCAR haters. I too, hated that shit two years ago, until the NHL in its' infinite wisdom, decided they didn't want to have a season. So, knowing the NBA is unwatchable, I tried NASCAR and have never looked back. Fucking awesome. It's a lot more than driving in circles.

PS- the 20 car? Not this year. This is the 48's year (I hope), or the 17. Those two have been the best all year.

The fact that they DO still race with high gas prices just proves the amount of revenue these guys generate; their fanbase is ENORMOUS! THAT is the kind of audience Journey needs to get thrown at. And as CR said, they do a ton for charity. Read up on Petty's Victory Junction Camp; pure class. I know you love Bono and he does great work 'world-wide'... at least these "assholes" are giving back to the fucking USA!

HOLY SHIT!!! That's why I got into NASCAR - No Hockey!!! All my neighbors LOVE that shit so last April I picked a driver I could relate to - Tough, Smart-ass, take-no-BS kinda guy = Tony. I got real lucky last year, I'm from Pittsburgh (Yes, still a Pens fan but Jagr is my fave player), not only did Tony take the Cup but my Steelers won the Super Bowl! And don't give me that Ref shit either. Other than 5 big plays, The Steelers played bad enough that a HS team coulda beat 'em.

As for the cup, if Tony doesn't win it, I'd LOVE to see an old timer like Martin or Burton win it.

I HATE ALL THAT IS HENDRICKS MOTORSPORTS!!!

In my opinion the 20 and the 48 don’t deserve it they are damn good racers but they act like babies most of the time. I personally wanna see the 6 win if not him then the 17. Burton is a good guy too he has had a great season.

I'm all for Big Orange but I do love Mark and would love to see him win this year...
Just woulda been cooler to see him do it in that VIAGRA Car :)

Jimmie Johnson fag stuff get real old, real quick. Guy is from California, well spoken does NOT whine or bitch, and has a fucking drop dead gorgeous model, Chandra as a wife.

The 48 DOES deserve the championship more than anyone this year, period. Always consistent. Suspend Chad Knaus? Win the Daytona 500. Win the All Star Challenge at Lowes. Win art Indy. This is a dream season. He might break the all time wins for a driver at this rate. 22 wins in 4 years? Unheard of.

Jimmie Johnson is a class act.

PS. If you really want that Super Bowl "Win" I guess you can have it. That was a gift, and EVERYONE knows it. The NFL NBA'd themselves last year.

I wanted to see Mark Martin finally get his long-deserved championship.

As for being a NASCAR fan; I was, up until a couple years ago. I still watch the races on TV but don't go to the tracks anymore, even though we're near a few. I can totally see Neal doing SSB, the whole mental image is great! In front of 100,000+ people, all of them screaming... great publicity there. Charlotte used to have a live band play during race weekends either before or after qualifying, can't remember now. If Journey could get a gig like that, even if they did it for less or even free, the exposure would be worth it.

I'll admit, JJ is putting a great year together. I just can't get myself to "like" hendricks teams but I "respect" talent.
As for my Fat Bastard, he's got a hot date to... 1 Hot Double Cheeseburger, a large fry and a shake!

I'm not much for Hendrick anymore, since Terry Labonte has (semi) retired. Love to see Jr. actually get it, this year. But I ain't holding my breath. I think JJ it is...

Darn, I f I could only be Manager for a day :)
