Off Topic: Anyone know how to get blood out of the carpet?

I went to the store with my daughter - left the back door open for the cats -- came home and found a mouse completely evicerated all over my living room floor. I almost threw up. I cleaned the carpet the best I could with soap & water, but it still doesn't look right. I felt like I was cleaning up a crime scene.

Blood is supposed to be cleaned with COLD H2O....

Don't despair though if it didn't come out. There are tons of good products at Lowes and Depot. Folex spot remover rules ass..

If all else fails, Barbi, get a razor blade and carefully shave off the contaminated spots of the carpet.

If you don't want to do that, do you have any carpet remnants lyin around? you can always cut out the affected area, and replace it with same sized remnant....make sure to glue it place.

Try that OxyClean stuff - it should break down the stain.

The sooner the better.

Oh Deano! I have always felt a man should not know things like that! I don't know why I am so embarrassed by this. Well obviously not enough to not mention it in this post.

We use Spot Shot for just about everything. However, I don't know if it works on blood stains or not.

The thread title made me laugh. Not because of Barb (although your description was funny... hope you get the stain out!) but because it reminded me of quite possibly the best forum post of all time. It went around the world in record time.

How do I get Herculiner off of my hootus?

It's old and many pages long. But if you're a fan of "hootus" puns it's worth it.

Actually, he wasn't so good at removing blood stains. I'd say to call Johnny Cochrane, but it seems he died...

Nope. Yes, Mr. Cochran passed. Did anyone see the picture (alleged!) of his headstone?? It said, quite simply, OJ DID IT.

Oh my GOD....my stomach is KILLING me from reading that forum!!!

This ONE TOPIC is THIRTEEN PAGES!

Could NOT get past page 1...this had me LMFAO!!!

Cribbed from that site...."Wabbit"s post:

"I'm a thinkin' that mineral spirits will remove the hootus contaminant.
Soak a corner of a small rag and swab it on there. Scrub thoroughly, but not vigoursly. A vigourous rythmic scrubbing will just make the problem bigger. Once the contaminant is removed, the hootus will be afflicted with a tingling sensation from the mineral spirits. You will need to decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
To alleviate the tingling, wash the hootus thoroughly with warm soapy water. Again, avoid vigourous rythmic scrubbing.
The cumulative events of the purported hootus contamination and subsequent de-contamination may cause post-traumatic hootus stress syndrome. To date the latest theraputic measures and consultations have not been proven to be effective.
It seems the most successful treatment of this condition is to "soak it in cider".
Good luck Gerald..."
