OT: A Helping Hand? (Just Don't Effin' Laugh)...

Hey everyone!

Just wanted anyone to know who is interested that I am currently working on revamping and developing my singing impressionist show, and I've reworked my demo video & just uploaded it on to YouTube. I'm still trying to figure out the promotional potential of YouTube, but if views/comments/ratings have anything to do with it, I wanted to see if I could send as many as possible over to the demo video to view and/or possibly rate or comment on the video?

The link to the promo video is here HERE...

And yeah, there's probably some gay looking shit on there, big deal. It's not an audition tape for Rock Star Supernova or anything...Just don't be too brutal!

Actually, if you must be brutal, shoot me an email or post here - Trying to keep positive things on the YouTube site to promote the show! This is ideally what I would like to be doing at a corporate level within the next two years, and I'm developing the show with a full band right now (yes, there is an audience in that video, unfortunately you just can't see them). Also, developing more parody songs, etc for the act rather than straight impressions. But if there's any kind of good will I've developed on this board in the past several years, a few views and positive ratings would make the act look good as I direct management/booking types to the video. Feel free to pass the link around to buds if possible.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremey

Moonie, your computer is made of stone. You increase the RAM by feeding the hamster vitamins.

Jeremey....that was excellent! I loved it!

The "Cyndi Lauper" had me laughing....you did a great job hitting THOSE notes!

FYI...I tried to sign up to give you a compliment at YouTube - and it won't let me! It kept telling me I didn't "type the code in correctly" at the bottom...and I DID - I swear.

Oh well,...I'll keep trying.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Moon Beam! I do know that it is quite a big file, but YouTube compresses shit so much, I don't know how they manage to get those big files shrunk down - This video was already compressed as a .wmv file and was 94 MB...The uncompressed DVD version took 5 hours to render (4:30 clip) and was 197 MB! YouTube is the only way I know to get such large videos online....But yes, if you have a slower computer it could really wear it down...Thanks for trying, though!

Hey Nora, thanks for checking it out - I am not sure why you couldn't register, but yes, I did forget you had to register in order to post a comment, but I don't think you need to register to rate the video. Thanks again for taking a look!

Thanks, Marabelle! Glad you like Cyndi, I am definitely putting it all out there on that one, so I'm lucky that it works.

The TNC book? Still compiling. Not sure when it will be released. Then again, if it was released, I'd have to keep putting in addendums with all the new material.

Great work Jeremey, and the promo vid looks impressive as hell.

There was a guy doing a similar gig at one of the casinos here and he looked like a total hack. Can't for the life of me remember his name...lemme look...Andre Phillip Gagnon. Your stuff's way better than what they showed him doing, although he did the same bit with We Are the World.

Thanks a lot you guys for checking it out!

I do know about Andre Phillip Gagnon...What is it about singing impressionists, they all come from Canada?!? Anyway, he's been doing the We Are The World bit for over 20 years...One of the reasons I put it in my show was hearing his rendition  It's real easy to fall into that hackey vibe with the show, so I'm trying to stay away from the 500 Rich Little/Danny Gans impersonators out there and still keep it fresh....Corporate work is tough to break into and the competition is pretty fierce for work, but through Frontiers I've been able to make a few contacts here and there, so I'm hoping it will keep moving in a positive direction.

Thanks again, everyone, for the views!

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I pretty much eliminated any cool factor I may have had here posting the clip, but big fuckin' deal, we're all buds here, so if people can help by bumping the views up or rating the clip, it was well worth it...

No way. If we were all 16, maybe, but your coolness is unaffected with me. But you may want to repost the pic of you and your wife on Halloween in case anyone has doubts.
