It was my first site too. I used to have it bookmarked, but not anymore since he doesn't update the site anymore.

It's still up, just not updated. It's a useful resource for historical information on the band. You can find an updated version of the FAQ he originated on JourneyDigest.com though. ;) I think it was *everyone* first site -- it was one of the only ones around for years. :)

Add me to the list of first timers. I loved that site, couldn't get enough of it for a long time. Wish it was still being updated, but I seemed to ahve recalled that Steven got a decent job and didn't have time for it anymore. Seem's he still pay's the bill for the domain name though.

The story that I heard through the grapevine is that he stopped updating it because he was getting way too much hateful mail from fans of a certain former lead singer...and he just didn't have the time to do it any longer.

It was the first one I found online, too. That's where I read about TBF. I seem to remember him saying his job situation contributed to his not updating, but I could say "hate email" turning him off. I go there once in awhile for lyrics or other info. Great resource!

You can add my name to the list of people who's first online Journey experience was on this site. Pretty cool!

Same here! and the official sony site aswell for me. I went to Steven Lakes site the most, like all of us probably. They had a link to the official band site, when Skylord was running the forums there "backtalk" now. So yeah, it was sometime ago!. Back then on Skylords forum, the Band members of Journey would actually post there! and answer questions a fair bit. Things have changed, it seems.

Skylord ran a totally different ship. It was thanks to him I got to meet the band in 2000. The official Journey forum was fun once until the bored housewives and pro-gun/war lobby took over!

If I was him, I'd be pissed that the band didn't ask him to do the official site. That guy had so much more content than the official site. It was a way better site. I used to go there all the time.

More info, but terrible layout.
