I was just wondering when all of your first concert was and what kind of energy was it for you to rock out. I have one under my belt and a 2nd to come, so hopefully there is more to come.

My husband had to practically drag me to my first Journey concert. I tried everything I could to get out of it, and we even had Meet and Greet passes for after the show. It was general admission, very small venue and we were among the first few people in so we were in the front row. Well, the fact that I am here, on this message board should tell you what kind of an impact it had on me. I've been to 3 more since and going to another Saturday. My first was 2 years ago.

1983 Styx - Kilroy was Here tour. Don't really remember it very well....just the Movie at the beginning. I was 3 and already at my first Styx show with my brother. From what he said I was singing every word and I had fun.

I've seen every tour since T4E....Right when they went to the "Evening With". Vapor Trails tour is STILL the best concert I've ever been to.

July '85 - REO Speedwagon "Wheels Are Turnin'" Tour, I was 12. It was my only time seeing my favorite guitarist Gary Richrath live. They need to bring him back in the band!

It's cool to have the Live Aid DVD with Gary playin'. Only 2 or 3 songs...but still cool

What ever happened to Gary, anyway? I always liked him too! Did him & Alan Gratzer leave at the same time?

Alan left in 88 I think, when they released "the hits". Gary was kicked out soon after 89 I think. They had a BTM a few years ago, it didn't air very many times though

I bought a bootleg copy of the "Live Infidelity" tour awhile ago. I would love it if they would make legit versions of that and the "Wheels Are Tourin'" DVD's in 5.1. I'd be all over it

The Hooters and Loverboy on April 1st 1986. 170 concerts later, I think I've seen everyone else now, too!
I'm not counting my parents dragging me to see Dickey Lee when I was 8

Status Quo... 1977 (when they were actually a good hard rockin band!!)
very closely followed by Thin Lizzy (Gorham/Downey on guitar) and Judas Priest, then AC/DC with Bon Scott ..all those bands in the space of about 8 months... those were the days!!

1988, it was Jeff Beck touring Italy to promote his Guitar Shop record with Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas.
I decided back then to become a drummer after watching Bozzio in action.

Wow...I would have LOVED to have seen Schenker in the late 70s...that show must have been incredible if the live album is anything to go by.

My first concert ever was Deep Purple on their Slaves and Masters Tour in 1991, I was 13 and was quite blown away by them, both the musicianship of the band and Turner's vocals. I was way up front so I was the lucky recipiant of a fatherly smile from Roger Glover (that just made my day

).
I remember that Vixen was the opening act. Anybody remember them? They actually rocked pretty hard that night and I remember Love is a Killer was their big song at the time.
