Because their heads and ego's are so much bigger than their collective talent. Truthfully, they had it coming.

Good. I hate NBA and it's players and even Coach Count Chocula couldn't get them to beat Greece..greece? Are you kidding me? Hey, if Canada can lose in hockey, then US can lose in basketball.
One thing the USA will never lose in is war......however, we are definitely trying to give the Iraq contest away aren't we? Nice job, W. Excellent leadership...

I agree. They're overpaid street thugs, many of them. Very few are indeed talented at all.

They don't think they are capable of losing, they're their own worst enemies.
Yes, basketball sucks.
Hell, USA Baseball even lost to MEXICO of all teams in the Baseball Classic in March. Again, ego's that think they should have one, and didn't take the tournament at all seriously.

Shit, you beat me to it...I was gonna say the same thing, how are we LOSING our national past times to other countries? It's no wonder most of the new talent are coming from overseas, maybe this will lend a hand in overblown contracts & endorsement deals to our own & even the paying field....then again, most likely not! I so thought we would clean it up in the end...bring back Magic, Jordan & Bird to get it done right....hell, while we're at it, I guess bring back Perry too eh!

The US will never win gold again in Basketball until they learn how to play the right way. Other countries have learned to play the fundamentally correct way, while the American guys are too busy worrying about being on ESPN sportscenter!

You can't beat the first dream team. Players today aren't fit to carry their jocks.
* Charles Barkley of the Phoenix Suns
* Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics
* Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trail Blazers
* Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks
* Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers
* Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls
* Christian Laettner of Duke University
* Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz
* Chris Mullin of the Golden State Warriors
* Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls
* David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs
* John Stockton of the Utah Jazz

Look, in 92, the USA created the Dream Team and in doing so, a bunch of kids around the globe picked up basketballs. There are over 100 international players in the NBA...The world has simply caught up.
However, Greece, say that with a straight face...greece has NO NBA players. Totally unacceptable. I was surprised to see Coach K NOT cry or say "kids" in his post game interview.
Fuck it...Let's see any other country beat us in Football.....REAL football, not that stupid shit called soccer.
