Without Augeri is JOURNEY really BAD ENGLISH?

With Steve gone from the band it could be said that what we have here is really Bad English with a new singer? The only original members of Journey being Neal and Ross, but Jon, Neal and Dean are all ex Bad English! Put it this way if John Waite had took over for Augeri would it still be Journey?
My point is there sound may lean closer to Bad English for the new record rather than before with Augeri who had a Perry like voice.Could we also see a few Bad English songs in the set? Jeff would do these great i would imagine, much rather have them than Ross singing or Neal!
My good friend Cetera brought up some thing else, though buy all accounts Jeff is the new singer what happens if he turns it down? :?
Short of getting Perry back for a farewell tour this could be the bands last chance if Jeff is the new singer.

There is no way that JSS turns down this gig. It is Journey. Someone has already called this line-up Journey Sirkus. Or even Soul Journey. I don't agree because it is Journey. I do believe that Journey will now have a harder edge to them which does sound like someone describing Bad English. Just don't call them Bad Journey. LOL

I think it was all decided long ago and that JSS has been the official lead singer since Steve left the stage that night.

But I think cos of the whole Soul Sirkus and Bad English connections... it's all become too complicated. You could argue that Journey doesn't actually exist in the sense of the word anymore.

If you say this is Bad English now, that would be more of a positive than an Augeri-led Journey. At least Bad English got some airplay. Augeri Journey got zero (at least here in the southeast). I heard When I See You Smile many times.

Call it Journey Sirkus, Bad Journey, Journey Soto... I call it GREAT!

I didn't think I could like Journey with anyone but Perry, but I really like the tone and sound of Soto. I didn't care for the hard sound of Soul Sirkus, but I am loving Soto in this style.

Now, GET IN THE STUDIO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Without Augeri."

That sounds so FUCKING good to my ears.

Now if we can ever say, "Without Azoff." Oh I would love to pull the strings for this band. Definitely make some news.

Don't agree with Augeri part, BUT I like Jeff and would be happy if he took over (be happier if it was Kevin taken over)
Completely agree with the Azoff part-ERIC

What is it with you and Kevin? I met him, nice guy, good pipes, but dude is like Augeri...too effeminate.

Look at Soto. Drops a couple F bombs, sings about getting a boner watching a hot chick from his window, etc etc. THAT will bring guys into Journey. No more Butterfly crap, (oh love Deenos little gay cybal on that too  ), or Kiss me Softly shit. Hey, I love Faithfully and some ballads, but Soto is putting stones into Journey.....

But what put Journey over the top, the slow songs, got the women in the place. I DO NOT WANT JOURNEY TO BE A BALLAD BAND, but I do want some slow songs from them each cd. Saw Journey in Nashville and they rocked, but they have always rocked, this last time it was harder-ERIC

naw, Journey without Augeri is live again, and I think we're about to hear some damned good material. Bad English was great in the days of the group, but I don't want another Bad English. Kind of hard to pull that off with this line-up. Not that JSS couldn't pull off the songs.

Knowing now that Journey was using backing tapes throughout the Augeri period
I would say Journey stopped being JRNY after TBF
I cannot except any band cheating to make themselves better.

Too me Journey and STYX are both no more.

Even with Augeri there many people accused the band of being Bad English redux.

The only original members of Journey being Neal and Ross, but Jon, Neal and Dean are all ex Bad English! Put it this way if John Waite had took over for Augeri would it still be Journey?

No. Soto sounds less like Perry than Augeri, but Wait sounds nothing like Perry. You need to at least have some soulful Cook-esque inflections and a melodic pitch.

Boy, that's a tough one....they go right ahead and HIRE a new singer!
I am willing to wager that the band auditioned a few replacement vocalists even while Augeri was still there.

I didn't hear Bad English, so I don't know what songs they sang. But I don't like John Waite's voice ( I head him when He fronted the Babys. They were the opening act for Journey.). John Waites hair back then reminded me of a feather duster !

Journey is Journey. Perry, Soto, Augeri, Soto, Fleishman (SP?) even. Should they call themselves Styx?

Foreigner, I can even handle, though Mick Jones is WAY pushing it.

bad english...
