Who Can Offer Me Assistance?

Hey fuckers

I am in a hotel in lovely, clean aired San Bernardino County, taking in my first NASCAR experience this weekend. It's like a huge rock concert tour. Exciting as Hell, louder than a freight train boning an 747, and nicest people you will ever meet. However, my thoughts have drifted to MR throughout the day, as well as "the other site," and I would like to know if anyone can help me learn how to copy and paste and photoshop? I really feel that if I can learn this craft, I can really add something of high end value to this board. I have about a million ideas in my head right now, and it's 557A in SoCal.

Styxman, AR, anyone?

Photoshop is piece of piss. What do you wanto know man, I been using this for years. You can make people look different, or copy somebodies face on somebody elses body, and yeah it looks real too. You can teach yourself, well I did. But its trial and error, eventually you get the hang of it... i've always been a good artist/drawer, but even if you are not Photoshop is a program, click this and click that!.

But! may I suggest, this forum called showdown.net - where I hang out at, its a graphic designer, web designer forum. These guys are good at this stuff, and make a living off things like Photoshop, anything you wanna know the people are more than happy to help out. But im sure theres people here will elite skillz.

Exactly what I want dude. I want to add some spice to this board..I want to paste faces on Hippos..and other things too. Is it an already installed program on WindowsXP or do I have to buy it?

You gotta buy it. The full-blown PhotoShop program with all the bells and whistles cost over $600.

(Basic version is free at downloads.com)

Photoshop, you would have to download it - probably torrentspy or somthing like. Its a nifty program hey, I had alot of good times with this program.

But "Paint" is a standard Windows program which you have. Go to your start menue and applications, then accessories and theres Paint. That's a basic program which is user friendly, but it's really good for what you want to do. A perfect start, and for copy and paste. Check it out, have a play around with it :) I still use it actually.

Styxman knows :)

Deano,

I'll somehow make sure you get a crash course in photoshop, anything to get me out of this avatar thing as I'm getting bored with it

I need the whole adobe suite for my work, cost me a fortune I might add but I'm an Illustrator nut, love this software. As for photoshop it's a necessary evil for me, I hate working with low resolution images grabbed from the net for the avatar stories especially when you're not getting paid for it. Paint I wouldn't touch at all, this is a piss poor excuse for a programme, don't even go there

Best advice is as Vladan said, try the free download but also look for the photoshop elements book, probably set you back $40 and come bundled with photoshop elements, this is all you'll need.

PM me when you've got the software and I'll guide you through it, mind you, looking at some of the other avatars, there are some shit hot photoshop users already on the site.

Looking forward to my early escape from these stories

Hey RND - hope you are enjoying your NASCAR experience

Photoshop is what I get paid to do - well part of it. I am a graphic illustrator and web administrator. I have used PS for about 15 years now.

You really do need the full version - separately it is about $900 - it is part of the CS series now (CS=Creative Studio) by Adobe so you also receive illustrator, image ready, and a whole bunch of other stuff you don't need if all you want to do is learn how to cut and paste. Adobe CS2 is a bout $1200.00 - What you can teach yourself is pretty limited, once you realize how much you can do.

Try Paint Shop Pro - there used to be a free version - now it costs less than $100.00
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite? ... 7025487586

It is good software, has been around for a long time - you might want to try it first - It is perfectly good for cut and pastes - some pros use it too.

Just my $.02 - please feel free to pm me with any questions.

Cat

First NASCAR experience
I have yet to watch one at the track
I \kind of wish I was out there in Fontana
Hearing the whine of the engines rev
Inhaling the sweet scent of turbocharged racing engine fuel
Too bad it must be hotter than heck out there

Enjoy

great way to end the avatar stories... in a cliff hanger---like the old Dallas shows, instead of who shot JR..... who shot the avatar ... that would be gold...

Great people with a respect & love for Steve Perry
but you have to live & love within their parameters
Sometimes I dislike the censor of creativity

I meant Deano could read Jans tec guide on the site about paint shop pro. Yes I do believe our Deano would get in a bit of trouble posting on that site but hey they are a great bunch of friends, just conservative ones.

DUDE! you REALLY don't need Photoshop. it'll take you forever learning it... I've been using it since before it was known as Photoshop, and I still learn new things everyday.

There's plenty of cheap or even free programs available on the net that will do great for editing pics, and are much easier for novices to use than Photoshop. They are even compaitble in some cases with Photoshop files.

I wouldn't go with downloads or copies of the full thing, and unless you are a pro graphic artist as I was whenI used it full time, it's costly even for us, but it's THE BEST program out there for much of what I needed to do.

Take it from me, you don't want to get into Photoshop. Elements is enough for any "average Joe" and is very cheap.
