Unless he's personally coaxed and encouraged, I doubt this forum's resident nattering nabob of negativty will share his thoughts on the JSS-fronted Journey show he just attended.

Even though my actions towards him may seem akin to snapping a towel at the locker room bitch, I can honestly say I want to hear his thoughts.
Quite possibly more so than anyone elses here.

Monker, u may be a smegma loving jailbait queer, but know that u are loved here.
Truly.

Now please tell us how the show went.

Your review seemed decidedly positive -at least so far as JSS's role was concerned.
Do you now want to recant those words?
Or does your train stop here?

I think it's worth seeing to make up your own mind.

Obviously, I think some people here are WAY over promoting it. I'll give you my wife's non-forum-tainted opinion when I asked her what she thought of JSS..."He sounds a LOT like Steve AUGERI. Where do they find all of these singers who all sound so much alike?"

In other words, don't go expecting the second coming of Perry...as some would have you believe. Don't go expecting Journey according to Soul Sirkus. Go expecting to hear Journey with SS's attitude...which is basicaly what I expected.

Does this concert signal the end of your love affair with Journey, or has JSS given you a reason to keep believing?

Bottom line : I'm not going to spend $75/ticket on Journey ever again. If they come by on the Styx circuit, sure...a fair concert, a free concert at the casino, etc...sure, I'd do that. But, not anything close to the price they are asking on this current tour.

Albums are the same way...I'd need to hear LOTS of clips before I'd buy it.

This is my outlook as well... I may buy a GA ticket in the future, and it's doubtful I'll attend multiple shows on future tours.

Journey has made it apparent that they care little for either their fans or their vocalists... I had forgiven them for ditching Perry because of how Perry was, but it's hard for me to forgive them for ditching Augeri when he simply participated in something everyone else in the band did as well. It's a revolving door of throwaway singers. Fool me once, as they say...

Yes, I'm aware they won't miss one lost ticket sale, so save the insults...

This argument sucks.

If Augeri is the "classy guy" everyone says, why didn't he take his 6 year pay and walk away with his head held high? He didn't because he thought he could KEEP skating on us. Well Augeri, you didn't get past me you fucking bastard. You almost killed my favourite band. I am glad I did what I did.

I will tell you right now....Soto wouldn't do this shit. If Jeff couldn't bring it, he would be man enough to walk away and NOT use tapes and deception.

It's not really an argument I was trying to make, because I know Augeri is no innocent. The reason I don't hate his ass is because he's the one at home taking the blame. YOU KNOW I find the whole band responsible. I'm sorry, I cannot forgive Neal and co because they are "talented". It's not an excuse in my world. If Augeri said, "Look guys, I want to be in this tour, I can use pro help or something" the rest of them had to look right back at him and say "Okay, fine."

Since four of those people are up there, still receiving my $ and pretending it never happened, I'm not eager to support them.

As I said, I know they will probably not miss my $, but it gives me a little peace of mind.

AFI, I am thinking now, that I really think the band (the remaining 4), had no idea how much he was lipping. I believe they thought maybe help or on one or two songs max....

You agree that is possible?

Possible but doubtful IMO. Could it really have been all between Elson and Augeri?

In any case, they had to know it was going on AT SOME LEVEL, and they let it go, and that is what damns them.

true.

I do think that some of the guys arent as close as some think. I also think that it is possible Schon really had no clue. he is busy doing his thing, and the same with the Frig. Look, these guys tape every show, but when you are this good do you listen nightly to your boot? probably not. Elson may be on the hook for some longer time, but he will wiggle free. It wasn't Elsons' idea, ok.

I read the above after reading this from you in another thread:

Trust me, I am smarter than you, and know more about this than you ever will. You think I would go in half cocked and try to derail Journey with half assed tghoughts? Hell, I never wnated to derail Journey. I just wanted these guys to be correct. They are, I have forgiven all but Mr Awful, and we have moved on.

So, which is the truth, and which is the bullshit? You are either GUESSING this and that, as you say in this thread...Or, you KNOW about this and that as you say above.

This is the type of complete contradiction that causes me to not believe ANYTHING you say, and not take ANYTHING you say as anything more then a huge amount of exageration surrounding your opinion, surrounding - possibly - a SMALL amount of truth.

I am good at getting a lot of boots, and I never caught on until it was pointed out.

Now I have a pretty good idea of when it actually started. I was shocked and argued against it (understandably) until I put the bottle down and really listened.

Where I differ with my friends on the board is that I liked Augeri before this all went down. However, any A-head that really wants to argue this point, you will lose this arguement.

I don't really see a contradiction. I could have used more assured words than "think" but I DO know what happened and I KNOW I am right and I DON'T care if you believe me or not Monker. To the people who don't believe it happened or don't believe me...that's fine, however the joke is on you. Don't let your hate for me obstruct the truthful sightlines of this shit. It Happened, He was fired, and they have moved on. I can't say it any clearer.

Sorry Monker, just re read your quotes (my original). I DO know exactly what went on, however, I am NOT 100% sure that certain members knew the extent of which Augeri was lipping. I don't think he was in everyone's ear monitor. I think some may have had him taken out of their mix.

So now we have Augeri getting a 6 year pay, after getting fired for using taped vocals for a year or more, that most of the band members possibly knew nothing about, especially Neal.

I'm puzzled. I can remember when at the height of Tapegate a couple of people put forward the theory that not all of the band may have been aware of what was going on and you absolutely shot them down in flames, declaring that all of them knew what was going on. I'm not asking you to give away any secrets but have you received new information in the meantime that would account for this change of heart?

You are full of shit. Two months ago you had the guys playing along to a click track to make sure they were in the same place in the song as the tape. So now they only worried about playing to the tape on a couple of songs? Did they think the song changed from night to night so they had to be on their toes with the click on every song? If there was tape, everyone is involved to the same degree, but only the life of one will be affected by it. What do your supposed sources say about it? If you had any, they'd probably be telling you it was Neal's idea. Trying to suck up to the rest of the band now that you think you're buds with JSS?

I think he's trying to say Augeri should have left after being with the band for six years (6yrs pay), instead of continuing on with vocal problems.

I don't think the band would give Augeri six years pay after being fired, if that is what has happened.

Bingo. Exactly why I don't take anything Dean says as gospel truth in the way some people here do. He blows everything out of proportion and nobody can tell what is true and what is his opinion which he believes to be truth.
