Anyone here go to the Columbus Ohio Show? I saw on another board from a fan whom attended, that Jon did not introduce Jeff Scott Soto as a fill in and no mention of Augeri and the big shocker was what they did with the "Faithfully video" and I quote;

"But the reality really set in when Dean sang Faithfully and they showed the old video of Faithfully and cut Steve Perry out of it. They did put Dean and his new baby's pic in it and some shots of JSS but no Augeri. They even left in the part where Steve Smith was walking on the plane with his baby. But no Stevie. It was sad. "

They've done the video since (at least) before Seattle.

The "our lead singer Jeff Scott Soto" has been going on since they got to California...

None of this is new.

Could Perry have been cut out for legal reasons? Wouldn't you need his permission? As far as Augeri being cut out...who cares, he has no history with that song. Deen and JSS were in it because they are current members of the band...something I suspect Augeri can no longer say. Or maybe they didn't want people saying, "Hey that's the dude that was accused of lip-synching." Either way, not a big deal.

That's a good point. I remember Three Dog Night doing the same thing with respect to Chuck Negron. During some of their songs played live, they had the huge screen with "cuts" from vintage clips of them performing. Chuck Negron was never shown. It's common knowledge that the members of the band went through a number of legal battles, with Chuck and Cory going head to head over ownership of the Three Dog Night name. Eventually, as we know, Cory Wells won out in court and he was the one who had actually started the band.

Still seems weird to me that they would include Deen and JSS in an older video. Neither guy was there when the video was made, or when the song hit the charts.

I can understand Deen being in it, because he is currently singing the song...

They were smart to cut Perry out, whether it was forced on them legally or they just don't want him in it. He should not be in it. He sang it, lived it, and now chooses to watch others do the same to it.

My honest opinion? Screw him. He had/has a chance to do it, and elects to pet kitties and watch the SF Giants. That's all good, but JSS is Journey's singer now. We have moved on. Either come with, or get off and make space for new fans.

I haven't read many reviews lately but I thought I heard Jeff was singing this on some nights too; is that true?
It is suspicious though. Its probably nothing more than promoting the current "touring" line-up but all these little tidbits here and there are sounding more and more like a resounding fact of life...
I know I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've only heard about Jeff singing it when Deen was ill. That was only one or two nights.

Maybe they want us to forget he was ever there.
