If JSS is the shit...

then where are the good sounding boots and video clips which support this? In thebeginning there was plenty of boots and vids but the verdict was that they sucked. Then we get nothing new except Deeno and some others swearing he can handle it. Ok, so where is the proof? And JSS is not afraid to self promote! His website has quite a few samples and is updated frequently. If he is as good as you would have me believe, where is the proof? JSS himself hasn't put anything up at his own site. If there was something good, where is it? I stay on the sidelines until I see or hear something to change my mind. Last thing I heard for myself indicated he can't handle these songs.

I've seen 3 shows and each one was better than the last. I did not hear any struggling. I too would like a good quality boot. I doubt the 'Journey Camp' will allow Jeff to post anything he is currently doing on his website.... they are pretty anal about 'unofficial' things

. I hope you get to a show.

I wonder if there's any good Video boots out there yet. Tired of the bad ones on youtube. All the same damn song.

So what are you looking for here?? Something more than a good aud recording??
I might toss you a bone if so. It will be just a clip or two... nothing more for now.

The clips on you tube are friggin average at best, and closer to being just plain bad. Is this Soto guy really that good? I haven't seen him yet, so I can't judge. I don't have a good feeling about it though.

I think the band should upload a couple of soundboard clips to their website, but they are only performing the classic material with Jeff and you can bet your ass that Mr. Perry wouldn't allow it.

Sure, just anything that shows he has the goods, WITH Journey.

Dude,
You won't get an answer. I've asked the same question several times and have gotten zee-fuckin-ro. The newest boot I've seen out there is from 8-27. I've listened to it and have the same opinion as the boots before and when I seen them in Indy. Here's the web address for the boot if you don't have it:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K1CPUZH4
I'd like to hear a newer boot that is supposed to show the "real deal". My guess is your opinion won't change. Mine sure hasn't thus far.

Dude,
Go see them and judge for yourself. I've seen them live and the boots are representative of what you can expect. Good luck with it.

Here is a ALD recording from this month. This is a MONO recording and it is a MP3 clip but you can get a clear hear on the overall sound of the band. There is a small glitch in the later part of the song... sorry. No time to mix it out and master the recordings I have yet.

ALD - Assisted Listening Device
It's a soundboard feed that gets pumped into the PA at the venue... For hearing imparied people they can get recievers that can pick up the ALD signal from a FM frequence that is transmited in mono in the venue. It's not a great way to record a show but it can be a nice recording to mix with.

I think he does enough of his own thing while paying respect to the Perry legacy of the song. He hits most of the highs, and Deen backfills in the chorus. Perfectly fine. He doesn't sound like he's straining and doubt he'd blow his voice.
What annoyed me about the song was Deen's three cymbal hits he repeats in the beginning. WTF? Love ya, but that ruins the beginning of the song. It's supposed to be a simple beginning.
Loved the end, "Give a warm Journey welcome to our friend and lead singer, Jeff Scott Soto."

That version of "Innuendo" is killer in that medley. I'm sorry, but the man can sing.
I was convinced when I saw SoulSirkus, but damn that Queen stuff is good. Not Freddie range top to bottom, but he owns 'em.

Here is a very small clip of that I was messing with... Deno's working on his one arm drumming skills. It is looped and mixed some.
Yes.. this is from a soundcheck.
The band did I'll Be Alright Without You along with a few other tunes that I can't put a finger on.
