BOB SEGER is appearing on Jay Leno tonight...9/14

Seger's been out of the limelight for 11 years and just released a NEW album on Tuesday. Def Leppard have appeared on Leno and I think Regis already...I wonder if Journey was asked as well and they declined?

Kind of hard to say yes, when the lead singer can't sing.

That may apply to this year and last...BUT what about previous years? That one appearance on the CBS Morning show in 2001 doesn't count, because that wasn't PRIME time. I think the band has probably had plenty of opportunities, but I think it may have been an issue with Steve Perry?

According to a poster on BT with "alleged" conections to the band, Journey has been invited on television on many occassions but turned them all down.
Why, you ask?
Their dismal appearances on "Blind Date" and the "CBS Morning Show" should lend you a clue.
On both occassions, the band ended up doing more damage, than good.
That is just my own supposition.
Perry probably factors in, as well.

When did Seger get old?

He looks like Kenny Rogers crossed w/ Ira Einhorn. TNC remember that murderer Einhorn?

it would be great if someone would get this up on Rapidshare or something, so some of us can see it. Where I'm at, we don't recieve Leno, only Letterman (which is just fine in my book).

I saw Seger at the R&R HOF inductions last year (or the year before? I can't remember) and man he sounded bad. Then again, I'm originally from Michigan, and if I hear any of his overplayed singles again I might hurl.

It will be cool to see him on Leno, as for the whole 'too old' bit - yeah he's old but there's something about Bob then most people from Michigan enjoy and look forward to.

I've heard the new album and it's standard Seger, but at least he hasn't packed it in and at least he's still making music be it good or bad.

I saw Bob three times when he toured last and while there was little to no variation in the set list I still enjoyed it.

I'm looking forward to see him again, maybe Kid Rock will show up - for those that think KR is 'da shiznit'

I read a review that said this new album has the stripped-down sound and feel of "Against The Wind"; is that true?
That is a classic album!

I stayed up specifically to watch Leno to see Bob Seger. Damn, he is still good ! The new song did remind me of "Against the Wind".

Carlitto, didn't you stay up to watch Leno?
:D

I did get to see Bob Seger back in the 80's. It was one rockin' show. I remember Alto Reed going out into the audience any playing the sax. Hopefully you will be able to see Seger on his next tour. :D

The last time I went with my girlfriend and best friend - my mother gave me the what for for not taking her. I guess I'll be taking her to at least one of his Michigan shows.

The RUMOR is that he's going to play at least 6 shows in Michigan - 3 @ The Palace Of Auburn Hills, 3 @ Joe Lewis Arena. Again, these are only rumors.

It's actually a pretty rockin album. But there are parts that sound a lot like "Against The Wind". It's much better than his last effort. I didn't like that one at all.
