Deano - I think you make it quite clear that Journey management is abymal. I think Neal is Journey management and Jon just follows. Sometimes they just get damn lucky, which is this DL tour and Jeff. What % do you think DL drew to the concerts?

I don't agree on this. Jon is an important voice in the band...don't under estimate his power.

As for the concerts, close to 50/50 you'd have to think...a little different each way in different markets, but feedback I'm getting comes from both sides equally.

hey squirt,,(funny saying that ) for some reason folks might be dis-crediting jon now,,i look at the tunes he wrote and think hes equal with everyone,, its his band as much as it is schons,, he just happens to be the keyboard player,, i would bet journey the corporation is much bigger then what schon is,, they hired a manager , hes the boss,, not the band,, bands loose power very quick,, i need to see a show squirt,, wonder how many t-shirts of each band is selling ,, could that show what the audience mix is???

All I can say is this. I think Neal IS Journey BUT The Frig is there too. Neal is Journey, but NOW the Journey is rejuvenized....It is ALL Good!

I think this band, with proper leadership can seriously lead a challenge to resurrection of "melodic" rock.

Remember, "with proper, aggressive leadership."

I want SO fucking bad to work for this band. I would work FOR FREE, to get them some run....

I'd have to disagree w/ you there Andrew. At the Indy show my wife and I tried counting DL shirts/hats to Journeys and we figured it was about 75/25 for Def Leppard.

raider,, journey fans arent known for buying t-shirts though,, we are much more sophisticated than the def leppard fan,, becasue that concert shirt the leppard fan buys will be there main shirt through out the year,, journey fans by booze and quality out door concert meals,, HA j/k i know nothing ,,

Yeah that could be true. I mentioned that possibility of generational difference to my wife.

If you got that gig, I would expect nothing short of Avatar gracing the next album cover, ala Frontiers' Elmo...

Chicago had 29,000 people and from all accounts it was about 65-35 or 60-40 DL. Somewhere between 2-1 and 3-2 for all you gamblers.

That "little fucker" won't be calling anyone if they address him by those terms. Professional is the only way, or the door is always there. Respect goes a long way in business - also a background in this sort of department will be the only way, previous experiences. Otherwise anyone can be hired, and even the people with experience - with 30 years + management, still have trouble. This band can have the greatest management in the world! still won't change the situation. Journey at this moment in time are doing the best they can in my opinion, they have experience and they know what they are doing.

You can't disrespect Steve Augeri, because that's disrespecting Neal, JSS, Jon, Ross, Deen - everyone. Its a band, a family - they are in it togather.

:)

As much as I think you working for them would be cool, I can't see it EVER happening. Remember, they are still friends with Augeri. With that said, some of your posts about him were pretty over the top. It would basically be betrayal for them to ever hire you. That is of course assuming they're still on good terms with "Stevie Awesome." <--Just for you Deano!!

I agree, and I'll reiterate - to believe that a random guy on the Internet (with no experience in the industry) is going to turn the band around for the better is a bit naive...

IMO Journey will never have another hit due to today's market and their ever-changing lineup. People still want Perry or nothing, it's a sad fact.

Oh, for the love of Christ.

Thank god skipped the breakfast burrito as I'd be forking out for a new keyboard.

Everytime I said 75% left with Perry, I got blasted. I give the band credit for rebuilding it as much as they have. DL was a huge deal. When I saw them this summer ,I have to say ,If you wanted any concessions the lines were long when Journey was playing. When DL was playing you could walk right up. JSS is either genius or more luck. If Perry would do a show or two with them,it would take a stadium or multiple nights in one city.Oh, the ticket price.........
