I remember this video. This was done after the "We Are The World" vid. I guess the hard rockers were a bit miffed that they weren't in the first video, so they made their own ! :D

Matthew,

I remember Y & T! Before they were famous, they played in my high school quad at lunchtime ! (Back then they were known as Yesterday and Today). One of the many perks during my senior year !
:D

That's right! They were called Yesterday and Today on the first album weren't they? "Earthshaker" I think it was called...

How funny that they played at your school. The only band who played at mine were the British punk band The Skids (who later became Big Country)....but that was after they were famous...

Y&T is one of my favorite bands. I saw them a million times growing up in the Bay Area.

Yes - I loved "Black Tiger" especially. "Mean Streets" was good too - but the next album ("In Rock We Trust"?) was trying too hard to be commercial, don't you think?

I only got to see Y+T once in 1984 and it was a great show...

I was born in San Jose, but lived in Sunnyvale during most of my "youth". Am now in the Santa Cruz area. Y&T is one of the best live bands ever, IMO.

I like Lipstick n' Leather and Don't Stop Runnin' from that album, but ya, much more "fluffy" than their earlier stuff. Mean Streak, Forever, Rescue Me are all such timeless rock songs! Ten Lovers is a reallly good song too -- love the acoustic in it.

Yikes,
I didn;t turn on the speakers
So luckily I was spared
but even looking at them
made we wonder what the heck were we doing in the 80's

Did think I caught a shot or two of Carmine Appice...
As for the rest I hope it didn;t look worse than it sounded///

I must have missed this one....don't remember ever seeing it before. Sure didn't miss anything! Wonder how much money they were able to raise from it. Singing "we're star's" doe's not seem very heartfelt to be raising money for charity!

I remember many of the guitarists who performed on "Stars" thought Neal was the best of the bunch.

:)

The "making of" video showcases him even more.
