"Celebrity Duets": Part 2

Postby TRAGChick » Fri Sep 29, 2006 1:13 pm

Hey all...

I "happened upon" this show tonight, as nothing was on....again...

But...my God....what a surprise to see BONNIE TYLER of all people singing with a BLONDE(!!) Lucy Lawless (aka "Xena: Warrior Princess") her song "Total Eclipse of the Heart"...made me remember my friend.... :(

Anyway...onto a happier moment:

Alphonso Ribeiro singing with MY GIRL Gladys Knight...WOW can she sing!! Loved it.

...and then he busted out the "Carlton Dance"...made me LMAO...8)

My point is:

I didn't really "get" how this show went until tonight...the Celebrity sings the first verse of the song, and then says "Ladies and Gentlemen...please welcome..."(the person who REALLY sang the song.)

Well, here's MY "scenario":

A Celebrity gets introduced, and start to sing:

"Highway run...
Into the Midnight Sun.
Wheels go round and round...
You're on my mind..."

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome.....STEVE PERRY."

That would be totally INSANE....

Oh yeah ...I forgot...

These were the Singers paired up w/ the Celebrities:

Dennis DeYoung / Hal Sparks "Lady"
Sebastian Bach / Hal Sparks "18 and Life"

Smokey Robinson / Lucy Lawless (sorry...can't remember! but it was great  )
Bonnie Tyler / Lucy Lawless "Total Eclipse of the Heart"

Alphonso Ribeiro / Gladys Knight "Don't Wait Up"
Alphonso Ribeiro / Jon Secada "Angel"

After the Singers were done, they would say that they have a new CD coming out, if that was the case (it was for Smokey, Gladys, and Dennis)...hmmm..MAJOR Marketing/Advertising tool....

Sebastian Bach looked fantastic I thought, his hair, his skin, his heighth! his teeth, his smile,...Lucy Lawless is getting thinner and thinner..she's too thin I think. the singing is pretty good..

Ok then.............Jesseeeeeeee riiiiiiiiiiides, through the night. OR

youuuuuuuu make me weep and wanna die. People would recognize those right away too.

Don't think it didn't cross my mind too Nora.....Perry being friends with David Foster.........but just wishful thinking. Would have been great! Looks wise, he is definately holding up better than some of the other oldies they had on there like Dennis Deyoung, Kenny Loggins, Peter Frampton, etc.

It's on a little later here, so I'll have to maybe watch it. :)
