The past months there has been much fighting between people on here, not to mention between BT and MR. In fact it may have damaged friendships or in my case got me thrown and some other people off BT or cautioned by Andrew.
The reason for all of this is Journey and the fact that they have handled this scandel so shitty its not funny I know Jeff checks this board out and he is the new singer unofficially but he needs to talk to the guys and sort this nightmare out, there are people on BT laugh as you will praying for Steve Augeri like he is dieing! There are some here not evan sure who is going to be the singer on the UK tour? Plus there are a lot of people who belive that anyone who belives in the use of tapes is not a Journey fan and is out ot spread nasty rumours and run Steve down. Tell everyone if Steve is coming back and what happened with the tapes and let everyone know THE TRUTH!
For some this may be shocking and for the fans of Steve this is important so they can have there minds at rest.

hey granny your right,but in their defense,, THEY are given no info, not even scraps to go buy,, they are fans just like us,, but they are the official journey web site,, it started out great when they first opened up ,, the band would post once in a while and they did a QandA with each band member,, that first session is still up,, as far as i know its never been changed,, 14 or so questions only,, they are devoted and want to rock just as much as us,, ive never posted there,, i like it here, i feel comfortable,,, i do wish the band would treat their official site better, you cant go wrong here though,, andrew is all over it ,, deano , sallee , the fun is allways here!!

LFND- You are right, much fun here! Since that is the official site, why aren't they given any info at all. We seem to know alot more than they do, thanks to Dean-o! It is sad. they should come over here and learn a little and they would have much more fun????

Hmm, seems to to me that the band could fix this by announcing the change. There's a big thread where everyone is calling for news!

I could never understand why if the band hates BT so much and does not care etc. they have a problem just getting rid of it. If they're so embarrassed by their own official forum... then get rid of it? Hello? Have CJ start another Aimoo board for them and close down BT? Not that I'd expect Journey to think of something that simple and obvious.

The only people who are "not handling things well" are those who have not accepted the fact that Augeri is gone. Welcome to the club. I was one of the people who had a hard time accepting the fact that Perry was gone when Augeri signed on. Back then if you even mentioned Perry on BT you got banned.

I have no problem letting go of Augeri. Perry was the one that I had a hard time letting go of. Most of the hardcore Augeri fans are people who never saw Journey with Perry. All they know of Journey is with Augeri as a frontman. Those people are as devastated by losing Augeri as many of us were when he replaced Perry. That's why I say "welcome to the club".

I rarely go over to BT & never post but when I've looked around there I think most of them are aware that all the news shows up here long before it arrives there.

My friend who is a big Augeri fan told me there are major divides in his fans. Some like JSS which they call journeying to the "dark side", some think SA is too classy to return to what Journey has now become (she said it, not me), & others still believe SA's coming back. Some are angry that Augeri & his wife have said nothing, not even thank u for their cards, gifts, prayers. They see regular posts from JSS here and on BT where he is reaching out & connecting w/fans. Others are angry at those saying "why is there no news" because they think that invades Augeri's privacy & healing time. So, there is war among his fans as well.

While I don't have the right to tell the band what to do & I'm sure there's more to it than we know, I think no healing can occur until the announcement is made. Then SA's fans can grieve, get angry, & then choose to either move on or jump on board w/the new Journey.

I feel sorry for the SA fans who are left hoping. I hope an announcement is made soon. Maybe then we can all get back to the music.

Yes to a point people are responsible for there actions,my point is the tape situation has divided fans big time,and god help you if you think Steve is not coming back you are seen as negative and against Steve. People always disagree on best singers or albums etc this is diffrent,more scandel involved.

They have made fools out of the folks on the official board who bust their ass to make JRNY-land look like paradise, weed out anything faintly resembling what really happened, and work around the clock to uphold the band's rep.

How the Hell do you people know how to handle a scandal like this? It has only come out once and that was Milli Vanilli. Journey knows they are not huge on the music scene. they also know they have a hardcore group of fans, so what is the point of announcing they fucked up? The media does not need to know this. The hardcore fans...some will leave but most will stay put. The new Journey kicks so much ass....the media will pick up the new Journey and all the GOOD publicity and if the band never acknowledges it, the media can't ask about it. The only people who know are us.

The new Journey may kick ass on stage, performing the classic songs.

But they haven't proven they can write new songs that will grab new fans. IMO, that was the main problem of the last Journey.

I think it was handled well for that exact reason. The only people who know are us. Had they announced something, major media outlets would have picked up on it. I know that a few did after the story first broke with Deano, but it's nothing like it would have been had the band made an official statement.

Had they admitted to it, I feel that the Journey name would have gone the way of the Milli Vanilli name. Most people wouldn't have looked hard enough (or cared enough) to find the reason they had to do it, but they would have simply associated Journey with Milli Vanilli. Any mention of lip-synching would have been "pulling a Journey" just as often as it is "pulling a Milli Vanilli." Now that JSS is in, tapegate is going to fade away and the media will only pick up the good.

I agree 100% with Deano, that the band handled this as well as possible. Hell, even the BTers don't believe it, and they're liable to believe anything.

It is NOT Journey's responsibility to ensure people do not post against the rules on BT, or bash BTers on this forum, or ensure that friendships are maintained. People are responsible for their own actions and the consequences that result. People are responsible for maintaining their own friendships. Neither are Journey's responsibility.

"Higher Place" "Remember Me" "Place in Your Heart" "Signs of Life" all of these stack up against any of the classic output from Perry/Cain/Schon. Anyone who says otherwise isn't a Journey fan.
