I actually played on stage with a band at the party that night. Back when I used to actually know how to play guitar. Plugged me in, and gave me the mic.

To answer Larry's question that will be on it's way, it was "Detroit Rock City". The band we went to see did a couple of Kiss tunes (and Journey songs as well)

I'll go out on a limb and say this thread wouldn't make the top 1000 on BT as the all-time gayest thread! For the record, I think Kiss sucks :)
I mean come on...How the hell can anyone take a bunch of dudes seriously running around with painted faces and platform shoes?

Sorry Larry....

For the record, I'll be 36 tomorrow, so Kiss really wasn't my generation. My older brother (who is 45) was a HUGE Kiss fan when I was growing up, and he was just one weird dude. I had to blame it on something, so Kiss took the fall for my wacko brother! He listened to that music day and night! To be fair, I never really listened to Kiss' music, so outside of the hits (Rock and Roll All Night and Beth), I don't really know much of their music. I just couldn't get by their look. I did always think Gene Simmons was a cool guy (without the ridiculous costumes and makeup).

Well, a lot of people take them seriously. How many albums have they sold?

Ansley Dunbar tried out for Kiss. It's true.

Half these Kiss haters don't really know the entire catalog anyway. I have convinced the unbelievers before and will do so again. 8)

I can't defend most of the 80's/90's stuff though. Those songs were hit or miss. But 73 - 78 = GOLD!

Really not into Kiss

The story behind it was there was a guy in my dorm building
played drums...
I was learning drums & love them
so we became friends
Turned out we grew up a few blocks from each other in Queens,
His cousin was Eric Carr who at the time was the drummer for Kiss...
Eric taught him had to play deums and used to practice by me in garage bands.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to dress up as a Goth Kisser
