I just looked at a bunch of radio station sies and all of them, about 20, have Def Leppard listed as coming to town on tour.

NO mention of Journey.

Def Leppard simply has a better manager and does a better job at promoting them. Pissed me off too.

Another thing when I purchased my tickets at Ticketmaster, they have it all listed until "Def Leppard Concert"

Some changes definitely need to be made

"Technically," Journey is a co-headliner, which anyone with a brain knows is bullshit.

The sad thing is Journey completely blows them away.

Come on now, how many times has Journey closed a show on this tour. The answer is zero, which makes them an opening act. I'm with you, its not right but that is the fact. They need to get rid of gramps and stop that shit now!

Yeah Def Leppard was very weak, The music was actualy louder than the vocals. Def also has more stage to work with and seems to have the better systems which is bullshit.

Yes, i just purchased tix to see them in London on March 2007!

You'd think that the goal of BOTH DL and Journey would be to get as many people to these shows as possible.

I don't see how that would happen if both bands aren't listed! It would benefit both of them....I just don't understand the logic behind dropping Journey's name...

Last year the J2TH committee (journey to the hall of fame) of which I am co-chair, did research on the stations in city on the Generatons tour. 30 days before a scheduled date, we would email all the stations in the area with hey Journey is coming, they have a new cd, and oh, by the way did you know that they are not yet in the hall of fame? We got so much positive feed back - stations put our banner on their websites, the guys were interviewed constantly, some stations did remotes at the shows - even carrying our petition.

We did their job. We did a lot of other things too, however, one team researched the stations, one team did the emails to the stations - even Lu wrote a newsletter.

This year people were more interested in other projects - and my own personal illness prevented me from rallying folks as I might have otherwise.

The point is, you are right - they need to research the stations and print media - we did it already and it is all dropped into one dbase - it is not that difficult.

Journey isn't having as much influence on ticket sales they were earlier in the tour. I'm not sure which would make more sense. I don't think the show will draw as many tickets without mentioning Journey. I seen them in Indy and Elliot has a SHIT LOAD of backing vocals to cover his old high parts.

A Men to that

Aerosmith/Motley and Aerosmith/Kiss were presented as true co-headliners. No reason why Journey shouldn't get the same respect. Bryan Adams and Leppard flip flopped who went on first and last nightly as did David Lee Roth & Sammy Hagar.

The only reason I think they aren't is that Journey and Def Lep aren't flip flopping who opens and closes. Def Leppard closes every show.

Dean, I have not agreed with you much lately, but you are 100% right on this. If this is the new line up, they need new mgmt. Heck if Augeri comes back (which is unlikely ), they need to get new mgmt then too.-ERIC

agree he didn't have much to work with. But seriously, Arrival should have done a LITTLE better.

I know the climate has changed mightily since Journey's heyday. Not sure how far Perry could go on the videos and talk show circuit (and I am a certified Perry fanatic!) I see that Augeri would be horrible at both, and that JSS would be a video and talk show darling. VERY sexy, AND articulate, quick on his feet in conversation. (and following up on something JSS said, a much less racist climate!)

maybe I'm answering my own question, lol. But why have you changed your tune so much on Azoff. Do you REALLY think he will actually PROMOTE? I could use a little hope on this subject, so please elaborate. (did u MEET him and have more confidence now, or what....)

Journey actually did the Mark & Brian show and performed live on that. One of the very few radio/TV appearances in the last few years.

Wrong....VERY wrong. Journey, even with Soto, is STILL karaoke. Jeff has brought life back to the band, but the fact remains he's not the original singer of the songs he performs. When they release NEW material then, AND ONLY THEN, will it be fair to say that they "blow them away." Journey SHOULD be the opening act. Minus the original singer, when you're up against a comparable band, of course you should open.

I was talking to Jack Blades (Night Ranger/Damn Yankees frontman) last wek.

I was filling him in about the LA show and saying c'mon down to see - his FIRST reaction to my mentioing this, was "Wow, I keep hearing Journey are blowing DL away every night!"

His words, not mine, but safe to say Journey's efforts this tour are being watched and talked about within the industry.

Very cool to hear that, Andrew...they SHOULD be getting everyone's attention.

That is absolutely true. I saw them at Mansfield, MA and they tore Leppard apart. Many people said the same after the show.

I was happy that here in Rochester on one of our classic rock stations 95.1 FOX....it was listed as a Journey show..no mention of the leps..
